I'm 53, live in Louisville, KY - got "back into" raw denim a few weeks ago and now I'm "ate up". Started with pair of Beatle Busters from Self Edge - couldn't believe it when I got them, so impressed. Now I'm hard pressed to take them off - wife thinks I've lost my mind - I don't think so. Been reading everything I can about raw denim and Iron Heart. Love it. I wear almost nothing but jeans, but now I'm dissatisfied with all my "mere mortal" jeans. I say I got "back into" raw denim - we all wore 501 STFs and converse and red wings when I was in high school and college, but somehow got away from it. This is fun.

Might as well get around to making myself known, as Gavin and I have had a hell of a time sorting out trans-atlantic forum/email naming conventions (perhaps a title for someone's doctoral thesis someday):
My name is Patrick, I'm 26, recently married, and self-styled archivist/archaeologist/artist for Mid-Valley Farm outside of Portland, Oregon, US, established in 1865 and held in my family to this day.
I take a naturalistic view of denim, that it has a life of its own in symbiosis with my own and as such, I ment all its cuts and wounds so as to show their scars. I like things that will age because of the life I put them through, and that will require care on my part to ensure their continued livelihood. As I grow, they grow with me.
