Yo yo yo. I thought I'd say hello as I am new here, I'm based near London. I've heard great things about the selvedge denim here and trying to figure out with pair to buy first
Welcome. Feel free to ask for tips and advice on denim types, cuts and sizing. It’s a bit of process but this is the place to make it as smooth as possible.

Anyway im here to check things out, comment, lend advice if i can, discuss 19th century american antique tools, talk about cooking, gardening or dog breeds. I have an eclectic array of interest, but mainly here for boots, denim, and things like that. thats it.

Hi all
Would like to introduce myself.
I’m Peter. I’m 52 years old. Live in Denmark. Married to Bodil. Authorized optometrist but jumped to the other side more than twenty years ago and now work for a US based sunglass company as an AE. Avid cyclist competing on road and track for 25 years but had a widow maker heart attack 20 months ago which stopped me from racing. Im back on track and still riding without the races. I’m also a nerd and a hoarder[emoji41]but my wife tells me I’m just a boy that never stopped collecting Matchbox cars [emoji1690]
Saw a YouTube video a year ago about heavy weight denim and a new universe reviled itself. I did my research and went to my local AD and bought the 666s-21. A year later I have five pairs, five shirts, hoodie, t shirts, M65 jacket and lately bought the Mister Lou from the EU IH site.
Look forward to learn even more among you avid IH folks.
Cheers

@PJ:
Hi all
Would like to introduce myself.
I’m Peter.Hi Peter, welcome. I'll be visiting Denmark from Norway for the first time in a couple of weeks. Looking forward to it… On the one hand I hope it is nothing like either "Klovn" or "Forbrydelsen", on the other, I'd really like to meet Frank Kvam

Denmark is exactly a great mix of Klovn and Forbrydelsen[emoji12] Just kiddin. I met Frank. Much more fun on screen than IRL. Enjoy your stay and if you are in Copenhagen there is a great local store with all the good stuff from IH [emoji1690][emoji41][emoji482]

Hi thanks for approving my request, I am Paul, live in Indonesia.
I had never really into heavy weight denim in my life before. When the first time I literally got my hands on a pair of Iron Heart 21oz a couple months ago in one of the store in Jakarta, it changed me. Fell in love with the fabric/denim, and couldn’t sleep for 2 nights:
1. Pulled the trigger on 666S-21, due to lack of research/information, bought it too big (tag size 36) - even fried the leather patch during the the first (hot) soak.
2. Gave another shot to 634S-21, (tag size 34) which fits me quite OK, but found leg opening and the hem too big.
3. Returned the 634, and exchange with 666SST-21 (with a few $ more, tag size 34) - Happy
4. Decided to give 666S-21 another try, in tag size 34 - immersive fabric, wore it in my sleep, I’d still think 21oz is softer, stretchier compared to the SST 21oz (Shinayaka).
5. As somehow I found 634 top block fits me better compared to 666 cut, I purchased another 634 in 14ozQuite an experience for the past two months, not really a smart learning curve, but lesson learned.
I am still figuring out how to attach image, perhaps will reach out to the forum for advise later on - on the perfect inseam (I am short, and try to avoid cuff and stacks).
BTW I encouraged myself to register and actually post, after I learned that this forum’s camaraderie is truly genuine, and most importantly I’ve had a good laugh reading the conversation
So, thank you.

Hi guys! I'm from Canada and I was very happy to discover Iron Heart denim.
I had always been a bit of denim head without even realizing it as I coveted selvedge denim since high school. But I never took very good care of them and threw them in the wash after every wear basically. I've currently been rotating around pairs of Momotaros, Tanukis and Evisus.
I had no idea that such a cool community existed until I was looking for a new pair of jeans and discovered Iron Heart in Vancouver at the Shop. Those jeans were stiff and took a while to put on. Sizing was off but I was determined to find a pair that fit me. I eventually landed on a pair of 888 21oz in size 34 made from the Shinayaka denim. These were hemmed to a slight break over my boots and are absolutely awesome. I love the durability of this denim and could not believe how soft the become as I had a chance to touch a pair of Iron Hearts that were heavily used at the Shop. My jaw dropped.
What was most surprising to me was that after trying on a few work shirts and jackets from Iron Heart in person, I found out that all the shirts fit my upper body perfectly. I could not believe it. My entire life I had always been between sizes of a M and L. I always sized up so I could layer but everything was always oversized as a result. Iron Heart has been the only brand that has ever made a shirt that fit my body like a glove. The shoulders perfect, sleeve length perfect and chest. That was really good news and bad news for me because I suddenly wound up with a CPO shirt, a ultra heavy weight flannel and the left hand twilled type 3 jacket within the same week…
I love the fitment of the shirts but I can't wait to get my hands on another pair of 21oz 666s or 777s when they finally restock as I would love to try a more modern and slim fit in this amazing denim. Maybe you guys can suggest a sizing for me.
I hope to show you guys my growing collection in the future. Thank you!
