Watches - another OCD problem

These are nice (specifically the french ammo leather stuff): http://www.timekeeperforum.com/showthread.php?8977-TED-SU-Ammo-straps-big-hornbacks-dive-straps-and-more!
G, perhaps you could ask Haraki-san if he would get some vintage leather for some belts in a similar style?

The Frogman looks great hectic!
Saw this new G-shock yesterday - its not exactly understated but thats partly what I like about it:@slowdownarthur - dude, I saw this G-shock in the flesh the other day and it is fucking HUGE, bigger even than my Frogman. Just thought I would mention it if you were considering buying it online.

Watches are another weakness of mine…
Raymond Weil makes solid watches, from what little I know of the brand. I like the style of this one, and I've always loved the jumbo date window. Quartz movement, I assume?

Sounds good. Hope you enjoy it; watches are fun and the great thing about them is that there's something out there for every style and occasion. That one is a good simple watch that can be dressed either up or down and still look appropriate.

N.B.: You might want to hold out for an auto if you concerned about future re-sale; just a thought.
What's the big difference?.. In terms of quality, I mean. Future resale is n/a here as I will probably give it away to family if I decide to buy another watch…
Oh: and it hàs a croc strap. Nice!..

Watch freaks are a weird breed, they really get off on the pure mechanistic qualities of an auto. I think that the there is a feeling that coupling a low cost quartz movement with a high end brand has a demeaning effect. Notwithstanding that the average auto movement in mid-high range watches is a generic ETA movement that probably costs $100.
Quartz makes a lot of sense, from an accuracy POV, and also from a pick up and go - i.e.: you wont need to wind it.
I'm not a snob about it, just thought it was worth a mention.

Yay, awesome! That's an older model than mine I think, I think I prefer it with the exposed titanium. Have you seen the latest incarnation:

Raymond Weil 'Tradition Date 5476' ltd. blue dial.
Elaborate scheme to evade 2-300 € import fee tax… "Heeeyyy it's a birthday gift!.."

And here I was thinking they don't make cases as nice as they used to…
