If you're not sure you're gonna wear it often, consider buying 2ndhand…

Yeah that is an option. I've been looking on eBay. There's s few on eBay UK, but not the model I'm after.

My biggest issue with the company is that they mimic Rolex styling far too closely for my preference.
or IWC at that too. one of the few watches i cherish dearly..

The guy who made my strap (Toshi) put this picture up on his site. It's one of the first Typhoon straps he made, with butterscotch stiching on a Tudor Bronze Bucherer.
I think the whole thing looks rather nice…..

1. Just saw that news on the 'Dink when I checked my email… Nuts! I was ballparking it around, say, $5M to $10M but then again this is the watch that got the vintage Rolex frenzy pushed over the edge so I guess it makes sense.
2. Here's my 1972 ref. 1601 "Wide Boy" that I totally love. Picked up from the guys over at HQ Milton in San Francisco.

been thinking of picking up a relatively cheap 6694..

Lookin OG to me. Best second hand Seiko has ever produced IMO. Nice watch!
