^ Snowy, in a word, yes. If you happen to be fishing and get a bit too close or accidentally drift into their waters, they appear out of thin air in a large boat and politely ask you your business, check your ID if they are being extra diligent, and tell you to get back to your waters. They don't mess around.

Great pics, Mahlon. I've been in Ontario for 15 years and never made it to Sarnia. No reason, I suppose.
If I ever go back to British Columbia to visit my family I'll take pics of me jumping from one side of 0 Avenue to the other. In some places the only thing separating Canada from the US is a shallow ditch.

Thanks Zwer, unless you are going to the states, or specifically to Sarnia, there is no real reason to come here. It has a pretty bad reputation for being a scuzz-hole because of the heavy industry, but it's a great little city and there is water on 2 sides with great beaches!! Nice and quiet!

Dude, do you realize that some hunters work their entire lives and don't get that close to a herd?!?! And then, you take the dog for a pleasant stroll and stalk up on them??? Side note, I love the way an elk herd smells. It's like horses, but musky and sweeter. -
I know it man. I have two elk hunts this year and wont even see one…
I dig that smell two. Usually means i'm only about an hour away from tenderloin cooked over the camp fire.

I live right by the wildlife refuge where they've been reintroduced to the Wichitas, and have permission to hunt this primo spot. I was scouting this spring, and saw like 10 cows with calves in tow. They were still showing spots and running and jumping. It was quite incredible. Really hoping for a freezer full of elk this year.

Catching up…...Max needs to slow down or he'll have no indigo left by the end of this thing.

Been a while since I had the chance to catch up here. Some great photos and evo.
Never got the chance to wish bon voyage to Todd either. Hope all's well back home down under.
