Quick question, (and yes, I've read through the thread already), but is a soak actually necessary?
I know these are sanforised, and I know that due to deadlines they missed out on the normal 1st wash before leaving Japan, but is there a purpose for this wash besides removing any residue from the sanforising process? For raw, unsanforised denim the first soak is to bed on the construction/stitching, just wondered if that aspect also applies here?Regardless, I'm loving the fit on these MBB's….....fresh denim is just ridiculously tactile

I didn't even realize these didn't have the standard W/arcs.. That was a good surprise. Was that part of the spec the entire time or did it evolve over time? I don't remember reading about it when I bought them.
iirc it was specked from the get go! well actually black W and arcs but these are even better imo!
My legs are slimmer than my waist would suggest. Alot of my weight is centered around my gut. My legs could easily fit into a 34 but not my waist
that's what I thought, for me it's almost the other way around…soccer and gym thighs require a bigger size as the waist would need, so here I am, in my w36
Same issue here. First look at the 34" and the 36" measurement columns then straight to the thigh measurement. Anything less than 13" is going to be tight.

TMG:
Based on my experience with the 666XHS, I'd say the soak is completely optional. You'll get some shrinkage but not a whole lot.Perhaps the main advantage is the denim will be a bit kinder to your delicate areas. It may also last longer if you're one of those crotch-ripping types.
As for me, I like to punish my balls, so I didn't soak.

I always just soak it as hot as possible to allow the shrinking when soaking… It's going to get there eventually one way or anther... IMO cold soaks are simply delaying the inevitable

No, not needed at all. I didn't soak my 25oz. Wore them 6 months, soaked them, they shrunk a little , didn't change where the combs were or anything else. IMO the best part about new fresh denim is NOT soaking them

Quick pic. -
Pictures can't capture the true color of these pants.
Post soak fitpix. A bit of a struggle to botton up, but with wear they'll become perfect.
Almost the same measurements as my 634S W32, but the rear pokets are closer to each other and bigger. That is a great improvement for me.
Really something special these jeans…HC-IH-36 - first update : 05/04/2013
MBB : 1 soak, 1 wear
(sorry for dark photos best I can do for now) -
Great shots Rafa.
