Self Edge x Iron Heart 20oz Left Hand Twill Denim Jeans & Jackets
For collaboration number twenty-two we've come together with Iron Heart to have a new 20oz unsanforized loomstate left hand twill denim produced with gray weft (fill) yarns. Due to the left hand twill of the denim the jean has a unique hand feel and due to the gray weft yarns the fabric has a very interesting medium indigo shade. We've never really had a jean at our stores made of a denim that looks and feels like this one. Due to the combination of the weight of the fabric and the fact that the denim comes in its loomstate form the fabric will age at a high definition at high wear points and areas of creasing. Iron Heart have cut and sewn this denim without doing any processing of any kind to the fabric. Unsanforized, un-singed, uncalendered, and unmercerised; this is a true loomstate denim.
Iron Heart have taken this beautiful new fabric and produced two jean fits and one jacket model.
The SEXIH22-301s is a slim tapered cut with a medium rise and is stitched together with cotton poly-core goldenrod thread. This is the same 301s which is one of our best selling slim jeans at Self Edge.
The SEXIH22-633s is a straight leg jean above the knee and is tapered below the knee for a smaller leg opening. With the new 633s fit we took the 634s and lengthened the inseam and made the leg opening a tad smaller.
The SEXIH22TYPEIII jacket is a traditional Type III denim jacket which we've added hand-pockets to and lengthened the body by 2" so that it can worn with an untucked shirt underneath. It's also perfect for those who are too tall for the traditional denim jacket body length. All three of these items shrink a bit when washed due to the unsanforized nature of the denim used. We know it's a little extra to worry about but in the end you'll be thankful due to how they'll fit and age over time due to the denim not being treated with the sanforization process. Shrinkage info can be found on the product pages in our online store.
**These are made in limited numbers and will not be reproduced.
Both jean models and the denim jacket will go on sale at all Self Edge stores on Saturday, February 15th at noon (local time) and at 9am (PST) in our online store the same day. **

that denim looks really nice. wish i had another set of legs to jump in a pair of those 633s . . . . would love to hear how you all came up with 633 for the number of the jean.

I wish there was some really magical story behind this, but there isn't. Iron Heart asked what we wanted the new fit to be called and we just figured.. "well… it's the 634s but with a little taken off the bottom, so how about 633s?".

633 looks good. Now I just need to obsess a bit about the measurements and decide sizing and how much to hem. Good times.
-
634 minus 1 sounds good for some, but with the inseam we are going to get into the age old debate about it changing once you hem it, blah, blah meh.
i have to say i like the denim used on this project, that jacket is going to be insane after some wear.
-
Kiya, any estimate of the hem? The 634 tends to be in the 8.5 range. What's the difference in the 633? 7.5?

Once you see the denim in person you'll just KNOW that these jeans and jackets are going to age in a crazy way. You should go into the store if you have time to see them in their raw state.

You mean the actual measurement of the 633s?
If so, they're right here:

That's not a debate for me. Cutting 2 inches off the bottom is only going to widen the opening an eighth of an inch or less. Not even worth worrying about.
Like you said- blah, blah, meh. -
My size is only 0.2" smaller at the hem than the 634S cut anyway, a subtly cut it seems.

Like you said- blah, blah, meh.Do keep in mind that this is made of unsanforized denim, meaning the hem width will shrink about .3" after a hot soak.

Kiya, Is the new jacket cut the same as the OD modified III that you are currently selling? Just getting a sense of fit.
edit. Sorry, didn't see the measurements were posted until just now. I'll do my homework

Yep, the unsanforized aspect is why I'm wavering between size 33 and 34- trying to decide how the thigh is going to work out after shrinkage.

I'll have the jacket and 301 on Saturday. Gonna be some interesting fades.

^looking forward to seeing these
