Evolution of Leather - Belts Wallets Patches
-
How do you guys keep your wallets so clean?!! Mine was natural veg tan when I got it in December and it has pretty much turned completely indigo now. Don't get me wrong I love the dark patina mine has taken on but its interesting how clean these have stayed despite being harbored in your denim (I assume) I live the look of natural veg tan clean as well.

Could be lined pockets? That could make a difference on half of the wallet

Here are some pictures of a belt I've had for perhaps 25 years. If memory serves me correctly (and it probably doesn't) I bought it around 1988 and it has never been treated with any leather preservatives.

Nice man, impressive that its lasted this long! The funny thing to me is that on this forum we convince ourselves that shit isn't going to last unless we spend a lot of money and yet here is a perfectly good example of something I'm guessing you didn't spend too much on going for over 2 decades. Well done!

Oh yeah, I've a steer belt from my teens that is completely supple and awesome to this day, great brass roller buckle. Has been through hell and back repeatedly and still looks and feels great.
-
grandmasterben, I think you and other forum members are right to think that things (often) won't last unless you spend enough.
Almost nothing else in my wardrobe has survived from the late 1980s, and that is probably for the best.

New phone case from Zee Bee, freshly treated with Huberds. Hand made in the USA.

Definitely my shitty camera skills, and to be fair it was a quick iPhone snap taken while it was entirely freshly covered in Huberds boot grease.
I will do it more justice later with the DSLR, knowing what a pretty photo whore you are Rafa
