Our Cars (dream or actual)
-
I had a blast chasing them down, taking pics and vids of them. I’m on the same route. Wonderful to see these museum beauties on real roads/trips through beautiful areas.
-
The Auburn is a real eye opener. 1928, 7000 cc! Have a vid of it idling but was unabke to post here. It was having trounle overheating on the climbs.
-
Great to see these cars actually being put to the use they were intended for.
Here's a little more on the rally they are in: https://via-flaminia.com/oldtimer-car-rally/2024-peaks-of-the-andes/ -
@motojobobo all of your adventures lately have been outstanding!!! As @tody said, “great to see these cars actually being put to the use they were intended for” QFT
-
Looks like the rally is called Peaks of the Andes 2024 going by the stickers on the cars. That is very cool to see in person! Great photos

6 months later, I finally got around to putting on the paint sealant. Just in time for the next hurricane. I love this truck, and my 888s-21.
-
Glad you guys enjoyed the pics.
@tody good work tracking down the official rally site!
Not all the cars listed there are on the road today in Argentina. I believe 9 - 11 are rolling onwards. A few never made it out of Chile, I hear. At least two Bentleys were shipped straight back to Europe from Valaparaiso. -
@motojobobo that’s amazing.

@WhiskeySandwich Bronze wheels on black rigs is always the right choice. How are you liking the wildpeaks?
-
@derek111 hell yeah love this setup! I put the AT3W on my taco and they’ve done great for 70k miles so when I saw the AT4W it was a no-brainer. Best truck tires for the money.
-
Volvo in the background is up for sale due to what is in the foreground -
Does anyone have a c8 Corvette?
-
Where are my Toyota 4x4 enthusiasts at?
Here is my 2003 Tacoma TRD Off-Road, aptly named “The Silver Bullet”. I have put a lot of blood sweat and tears into this truck, and it is my most prized possession. Dreams come true!
-
@SourPower solid build - you getting out there and getting nasty with that thang? your rig def. deserves one of those 'This Toyota Fucks' stickers!! hahah
-
@Inorganic thank you very much! She was dirty as hell and looking too good after a fresh detail not to share.
This truck eats up high alpine 4x4 passes, Canyonlands red rock, and tight overgrown trails to reach native cutthroat and brook trout in the summer time. Can’t wait for the snow to melt!
-
@SourPower that just warms my heart to read. when you have a rig like yours you gotta get out there and live. Given what you said it seems like you've chosen some smart mods: extra gas/water, winch.
-
@SourPower this is my 96 FZJ80 Land Cruiser. It is OEM triple locked and mostly stock - but an absolute beast. I am constantly in awe of how capable this rig is off the lot. I try to push it to its limits for camping, exploring and general shenanigans.
-
@Inorganic so sick, I would love to own an 80 series some day. They are by far my favorite Land Cruiser.
