Looks good Graham.
The more I see and hear the Thruxton R , the more I wish I had gone for it over my R Nine T.

Thanks @bryaneidins70.
I think that both bikes are similar. There's not a lot in it, though I did appreciate the shaft drive on my old Boxer, and it had a few more horses.
Oh, the screen on the fairing obscures the speedometer up to about 120 km/h for me. Given that the Aussies have a zero tolerance attitude towards speeding, I'm not convinced that's a good outcome!

you'll get away with much more on a motorcycle anyway

Mine is for sale. It makes me so sad, but I just bought a house and it drained every penny I had and will have.

Went out for a ride with the Melbourne Café Racer group, followed by a burger. (I don't recommend this joint.)
The sister of @summ3rhays's old Ducati was parked outside, just to make him feel bad that he can't afford a bike ever again. The organisers of the local Distinguished Gentleman's Ride had been doing a photoshoot earlier, before deciding on the same eatery.

I took the Thruxton up to Benalla, which is about 220 km (135 miles) from where I live, and back again at the weekend.
After that I figured that it's not a good bike for long distances: too cramped and no luggage capacity.
So I dropped by the local BMW dealership to find something more practical. Oh, look, an RnineT Racer with a custom paint job…
And the new S1000RR, which possibly felt more comfortable than the Thruxton.
Meanwhile, what I should have been looking at is the K1600B, but I don't think that I'm old enough to get one of those yet. It did feel like an armchair on two wheels, though.

That’s the problem with bikes. You really need 4 to cover your bases.

I saw that over the weekend. So crazy! That is serious skill.

Had to clear out my bikes for the annual porch scrub down. Thought they looked good on the lawn under a mango tree who was dropping loads of yellow leaves and some early fruit.

Went in for new tires on my Scrambler. The rear was very worn down and the front had uneven wear which caused annoying bounciness at certain speeds. Picked a set of Metzeler Tourance as they had good reviews and I got them for a good price locally.
Old Bridgestone Trail Wings
New Metzelers
I should be able to give them a good tryout in a few weeks, before Xmas, on a three day trip to the mountains.

Sure did…rode out of the bike shop with a spray can of Motorex chain lube!
Tough crowd here ! Jeez... -
Thought I'd try re-ignite this awesome thread given the current stay at home policy with some shots of my CB750, cafe racer, shed build. This one's been happily draining my savings for the last two years. I have my 70 year Dad (retired engineer) to thank for getting the important stuff set up right. We still ride together occasionally, the memories of which, will never leave me, what a legend! We completed her last year, and was rightfully chuffed to display her at the Bike Shed 2019. If only I could take her out now, with all those empty roads!
