That's a nice bottle setup you got there

Thanks! That’s my reserve since the tank is only 2.1 gallons.

My 48 loaded for a 7 day trip. 2 gallon jerry can in one of the saddle bags. The short coming isn’t the 90 mile range of the tank because you’re ready for a stretch at that point. Its when you fuel up and come across a gas station in 45 miles. You don’t want to pull over so soon and with a 1/2 tank in reserve but if you’re in the sticks and the next station is 55 miles away you’re in a jam.

Lovely bike @benniejackson . Good looking headlamp, how do you find the light? And the ‘adaptive’ feature?
-
@Bfd70 Nice bike! That when to stop dilemma is tough. I'm still not sure how much of the 90 mile range I've shaved off with the tank lift. How do you like that seat?
@motojobobo I like the extra light over stock, even if it is just to help other drivers see me in the daytime. I don't do a ton of riding after dark. Tough to give a real review on the adaptive, but I've definitely noticed it working before.

Confusion. I was just posting that pic up because of the other 48 with spare fuel. The photo was taken in 2014. I’d never do that on a sporty now. Its a touring model or I go 4 wheels.
Dont remember the seat or bar models -
This is the 2021 one week trip rig. The Mrs says nothing less will do anymore.

Work has ruled my world for the past 6 weeks, or so. But, I've still managed to get in some saddle time. Since last report, I've done some upgrading.
The original owner had a Bassani exhaust installed, but neglected to tune it. I was definitely noticing some hesitation in throttle response. Fortunately, I was able to get my hands on a Screaming Eagle Pro Street tuner, and my local dealership got it running like a champ.
While it was in for service, my service guy showed a great amount of concern for my safety, in regards to tail lighting. I wholeheartedly agreed with him. The bike had a bit of personalization done, prior to my acquisition. The brake/turn lamps were replaced with minimalist(albeit, cool) LED tail lamps. I knew an improvement was necessary, and had been looking into it. At the top of my list happened to be a tail light from Custom Dynamics, who my service guy just so happened to work for, previously. There was a quick and easy consensus to the solution.
After a couple of weeks, I realized I wasn't going to be comfortable with the stock seat. So, I opted for a new Mustang saddle and pillion. I definitely love the upgrade. Knowing I'd have the occasional passenger, I opted for a short backrest, too. I'll likely never ride back there, but knowing the torque it has when you crack the throttle, it's good to know they'll stay there, when I do crack it.
I also knew I'd need bags, and Kuryakyn had just what I was looking for. I nabbed a swing arm bag, for day-to-day commutes, and throw-over saddle bags for longer trips.
Edit: Here's a quick pic of the tail lighting. Imagine, only the 2 small LEDs were there, when I got it. ::)

I just came across this and they knocked it out of the park. I had a feeling that the R18 would be a great platform for customization but this looks absolutely killer!

I don't ride. (It would be a race between myself and my wife killing me). But bikes like this one and G san's and those lovely 48s in this thread make me wish I did.

Headed for a 6-8 day offroad motorbike trip. Possibly some fishing and camping thrown in the mix too. Large group of about 25 bikes. Should be a fun and dusty trip.
Spot the IH fan bike!

sounds like a great trip, have fun !

Picked up a 1973 iron head yesterday. Hyped to start working on it and doing some change ups.
(It has a 74 tank on it, don’t want to offend any Harley aficionados)
