Repairs & Modifications

I recently acquired this lovely Rising Sun Indigo Vest, @Turntabloid. However, turns out it was a bit on the roomy side. After a trip to my local seamstress, who did the alteration through the back, the Rising Sun Indigo Vest fits great. Sadly, the selvedge seam detail has gone but I can live with that.

Have been all over these forums for a while but thought it was finally worth posting!
Picked up some IH301S 5 years ago and they've seen a lot. Had their first repair about 3 or so ears ago from Self Edge and that began to blow out.
Decided to take it upon myself to junk some old jeans and use that denim to repair these.
It's not too pretty but no fucking concern that it's going to bust. Still a bit of detail work to handle with some minor areas.

@Broark @summ3rhays I guess it's telling that I've not been in this thread for quite some time! Wanted to thank both of your for the kind words and great photos of Rain's work! Very excited to tackle whatever you guys have to throw at us next!

@den1mhead Good work, looks great! Were there no side seams that could be used for the alteration? I'm getting my IHV-02-BLK back from my seamstress any day now. She's taking the extra width out at the sides with a simple fold. While I trust her skills TBH I'm a little nervous of seeing the final result…

It was well earned. The 25oz is a beast and they turned out great. Wearing them today

Hey @neph93, the seamstress I used insisted on altering via the central back seam due to the amount to be removed. Who am I to argue with her ! So she did her thing and "By jove" it worked.
Fingers crossed yours works out -
Any recommendations on where to send my jeans for repair?

Indigo Proof. Simply the best.

If you want it cheap, visit your mom and use her sewing machine
Fixed my 634s yesterday.
Not über pretty but it's done in some minutes and yeah…

Visit your mom? You don't have a sewing machine or four?

Wow, lovely set up. Yes, I do not have a sewing machine but I guess is time. Probably gonna get a computerized sewing machine. How should I repair my jeans? Any good tutorial for reference?

Ripped the pocket on my Strike Gold right beside the rivet. Got my seamstress to remove the rivet and sew the seam back together. Then had her add a patch to cover and reinforce it.
Used some duck from my 666D -
I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but it seems like as good of a place as any. I purchased some 634S last year, and they're too big, but I've worn them. The rise is too tall and the legs could use a taper. Does anyone know of anyplace I could ship these for alterations like this? I've asked Railcar and they can't alter the rise. It seems like it's a bit of work. I'm bummed because I have no use for these expensive jeans.

I'm afraid answer is. Sell them on the secondary market and buy a pair that fit…..
That's the answer I've been getting. I've tried selling with no luck. Looks like I'm out of luck.

My grey 64 seemed to have much longer arms than my black 64. So much so that I wasn't wearing it much.
So took the plunge and got them shortenedPretty pleased with the result
