Much like Reuben's car jack, I got this waistband stretcher online for free. (Don't ask :)) and I plan on using it when I hand wash my jeans. I'll probably put it inside a large Ziploc bag so I can adjust it tight then seal the bag watertight. I might mod the wood on here to make it thicker too. Or get another and use two at the same time. One for the waist and one for the seam below the waist and yoke.

It amazes me how well the durability of the XHS hold up. I do not know how it is that these hold up the torture I put them through, day after day… always are so very enjoyable to wear from the very first glimpse of them from the bag, from the 200th day you wear something. They are so incredibly durable and beautiful and soft. I feel like my entire quality of life has improved since I became a member of this forum. It has shown me that I can't have it all, but I can have more of what I was looking for.

XHS are very, very special. I've been turning to them more than anything else… Wearing this sort of stuff is a kind of self-soothing for me.

Picked up a major batch of repairs from DC 4 Berlin today.
I can't sing the praise of the work done by Daniel and his Japanese co-worker (whom I have, alas, not met yet) highly enough. Really, really pleased with the care and thoroughness. -
I recently acquired some dye to attempt to dye one of my UHFs. It appears super blue so I am doing a test. This acid dye is special for dyeing woolen like fibers. It seems like I will also need to purchase some emerald green to achieve the color I am going for.
Edit, yes emerald green is a must

I Picked up a pair of Viberg ropers last year but didn’t like the look of the heel/sole. Sent them off to Viberg to resole them in a wedge. Turned out just as I had hoped. Before and after pictures

This is the final result of my UHF dye job.
I guess it matches my neck close enough.

@Filthy, dude! That came out pretty f’ing cool.

Thanks

@Filthy that came out really nice in the end, bravo dude

That looks very fucking cool indeed.
I died a few IH tshirts earlier in the year but the results were a bit patchy, so need to go in for round two.
Never thought of dying an IHF but must say that the results of yours look fabulous.

I think it's okay. I like it more than I did before.

Nice Mike and I’m glad you like it. I appreciate your drive to boil, dye, add patches to, etc. IH gear.
Thanks for giving us a… 101

Not content with what I had last night I used up the rest of the emerald citric acid dye I had and mixed it with the other dye. The acid dye I added had some what of a volatile exothermic reaction and fizzed up like I giant alkaseltzer.
Looks awesome though.
