…it is pretty hillbilly.

@Filthy:
I got one of these baseball cap buddies to wash my IHC-06. I put two zip ties on it so there is no possible way it can come open in the washer
I put the cap inside out because there are areas that raise up past the cage that would rub in the washer. I already go a big crease on the side from the first time I washed it.Genius! Thanks Mike!

Thought I'd share my "frayed crotch seams" procedure here. Some zig zagging with my trusty Singer Heavy Duty almost always does the job. Apparently, it can even handle 21OZ
This is the "fraying" I'm talking about. Seems to be caused by thighs rubbing against each other when walking.
Zig zagging along the frayed area. Crossing the point where all panels come together (what's the correct term for this?) is the critical part. How many layers of fabric there?
Happy with the results. Pro tip: Always use thread that is darker than the actual fabric to make the repair less visible. I used Gütermann Col 11 (100% Poly) in this case.

That looks really good @weftyarn
I have a regular Singer that I've used for small repairs on denim. But I don't dare using it on heavy weight IH (for fear of ruining my jeans–they're worth more than the Singer[emoji6]).
Might have to look into a heavy duty version of my own…

pocket pouch repair
I just wonder how in the hell this is possible….pockets falling apart so soon, between 12-18mo's...
Wishing too that the pocket material was a little thicker.
634s 21oz bought August 2021. 2 washes.
Winter rotation and worn on and off.
Guess I´m just a lazy dude with too much time with my hands in my pockets. -
@Karol Take a look here (and the following posts)
https://www.ironheart.co.uk/forum//post/562773
I have one very similar to that, but has no foot pedal (which either yours has, or has been after-marketed with a motor)
I've use mine for 44 years and it will spit on anything I throw at it.....

Beatiful Singer!
Sure G. was pointing to the Singer Database which I found very helpful. Looks like yours is from 1927 and in great condition. -
@Aetas thanks for pointing it out! I missed the hyperlink to the database while looking at that early post linked by @Giles
Indeed, it seem to be from 12 of February 1927.
Regarding the condition, on the surface it’s really OK but certain parts have seen plenty of wear after the II world war and it was not really serviced since the 60’s causing even more wear as it was used sporadically with no effort to tune or clean - It was just supposed to work as my mother used to say. -
I'm having some trouble with this frayed pocket, can anyone recommend anything that can be done to prevent this from getting worse? I just had to cut away a load of loose threads... I was going to ignore it and just embrace the wabi-sabi, but I feel like it's gonna get real bad unless I do something about it.

@T4920 - what about a leather piece/overlay patch similar to what the vulcans have on the front pocket - I have carried a pocket knife my entire life and the front pockets always get that issue on denim. The leather knife guard is brilliant and I wish it was an option for all denim tbh

@iammortalcombat can you link a picture, I'm not sure what you mean.
