Other shoe-brands

I've been wearing them for the last 3 years - they'll be due for a resole soon! I look after them and keep them in shoe trees whenever they're not being worn. In person, they don't look new I can assure you.

Ok, they still looked pretty new to me

I have a pair of Loake Burford boots too, from their high-end 1880 range. The AS seem a more solid boot with a better quality of leather, softer and thicker. The Loake are also a slightly more refined, less rugged boot overall. Construction-wise, the Loakes are pretty good and there are no obvious differences between the two, although the AS have had a lot more wear. I bought both pairs at a healthy discount but if I were to choose, even at full retail, hands down I'd buy the AS again. All in all I have 3 pairs of Loake boots/shoes and 4 pairs of AS so there's room for both brands!

i can never wear birks. feel super uncomfortable in them. i'm a havianas person.

I just got some of the ones that are like shoes, with a lace-up front, and full backs. I think the model is called Dundee. They're so comfortable, and look pretty good with jeans. I know that kind of excludes their primary role as sandals, but I'm really loving em.

Nice man! I've been looking at the ecru slipons. Does the cork feel weird at all or does it actually help with comfort and wetness? How do they compare to the lofgrens? Do they get the broark seal of approval?
-
@grandmasterben I just got them in the mail about an hour ago, so I haven't gotten to wear them yet. But in regards to construction and feel they are on par with the Lofgren champions. Clean stitching inside, they feel very sturdy and heafty. Initially the cork footbed feels nice, I'll likely wear them for a few days and report back. I'm hoping the cork helps with moisture as I tend to like to wear shoes like this without socks.
