Those are lovely. I, too, have been obsessed with cap toes. Haven't managed to find the pair that will satisfy me, unfortunately.
What are those, by the way?

Thanks. They're Bedstu Romels:

Good for the price (<$200usd). The pics on the site portray them as slight distressed, they come new and clean with some color variation. A friend whose polishing skills surpass my own helped me burnish the toes a bit more, I like 'em.
I'll still probably buy a pair of Alfred Sargent Culfords or C&J Conistons at some point, but these are a different steez.
Chris - What have you been looking at in your search?

those are a Hanon 50 only limited edition, unfortunly all sold out.
Hanon take currently pre-order on the 1500 (no wooden box) in this colorway for shipping at some point in Feb, but most sizes seem already be sold out again…

Interesting- I bought a pair of Bed Stu Crecy boots a while back for super cheap (<$90), but when they arrived, they were too big. I agree, not bad quality for the price. I picked up a pair of William Lennons and they're nice, but really heavy and they're going to take a while to break in. Other than that, I've been looking at the usual suspects- White's Semi-Dress, Red Wing Iron Rangers, Wolverine Montgomery, etc. If I really wanted to go all out, I'd try to find something like the Alden Jump Boot with a lug sole, or a custom pair of Tricker's, like this pair of Hermanns or this pair of Stows. That's getting a tad spendy, though.
Ideally, I'm looking for something that straddles the line between dressy and tough/functional. Not an easy balance, especially since I'm not exactly sure what I want.

fifediesel - Lookin' good, it's a great shirt.
Chris - I hear you, there are more than few out there. I have a couple (non-custom) pairs of Tricker's and can tell you they're worth it. Leather Soul did a pair of semi-brogue (they called them Eatons) with Tricker's recently that looked great, but they sold out of my size before I could snag 'em. I view brogues as straddling that tough/dressy line pretty well.
Wore the Romels today, they were pretty comfy. We'll see how they hold up.

seavees trailboot. they were on giltman for super cheap. i couldnt drop the cash on a pair of quoddy's like i wanted. these are pretty ridiculously comfortable though.

they arent on the same level as a pair of quoddy's, or yuke's, or russells, or something of that ilk but i'd put them on par with anything Clark's has on the market right now. I actually find them to be much more comfortable than my wallabee's or desert boots. they have a removable insole in the footbed which has alot of cushion. overall i'm happy with them, and they were $79 bucks on giltman so i really can't complain. Totally worth it for that price. If I were going to pay full price for them then I would have just saved more money and gotten the Quoddy Grizzly boot.
i also custom ordered a pair of thorogood boots a while back and they just shipped so i'll post up a review when they arrive.
