Well said @popvulture! I was fortunate enough to elope with my wife. We were married by a judge in Swede Hill pocket park near downtown Austin and we had threw a party a few months later on Valentine's day for friends and family. The party was stressful (and expensive) enough and I can't imagine the challenges that a big ceremony would present! Congrats on surviving the tempest @Mizmazzle, hoping for smooth roads ahead for y'all!

Just found out over the weekend that one of my neighbours fell and broke her hip a week ago in a fitness class. She is 82 and was determined to live on her own for as long as possible. In her fall she completely shattered it, her chance of walking again is minimal, and her living on her own again is not possible.
Enjoy your youth while you can…

Anyone in the states have experience with getting a passport days before a trip? It’s been a shit show here. Supposed to leave to Japan on my honeymoon on Thursday and my wife hasn’t received her expedited passport. We contacted about cancelling and they’re stating her old one wouldn’t arrive back here in time. Not sure what our options are at this point. We tried contacting our congress person

@sabergirl thank you! it seems like their processes have changed quite a bit. they're so backed up and busy right now. we called last week and their only appointment was in El Paso, TX on the day we leave. We're in southern california. I've been reading a bit more about the passport agency offices and it seems they now have security that ensure you have an appt prior to even letting you in the building.
