Random Rants

I totally understand why the leash laws are in place. And I agree that even the most well trained dogs can succumb to instinct and temptation. But it still sucks haha.
Carl is extremely well trained and highly obedient, but is just one of the hundreds of dogs that use the area, so rules must be in place. When we hike and fish etc...he is never on leash (or anywhere else for that matter) because he is highly trained and has been exposed to a large range of scenarios and understands what to do and how to recall instantly without fail. He is a rare animal in that he has actually taught himself boundaries regarding the street and yard etc. When we got the ticket he was literally 3 ft from my side.
The city of Boulder, to the north of Denver has a really cool program. Yo ucan get a dog license to have you pup off leash on the local trails. They need to pass an obedience test to show they are trained and can meet the challenges of being off leash. I would LOVE my town to have something like this.
I understand the perspectives off each party...Horse owners, park goers, the city, other dog owners....But I also think it's possible to have a well trained dog that can navigate a park without bothering anyone. Carl won't even approach another dog, squirrel, goose etc unless I give him the ok to do so...But I understand that's not the case for every dog. I HATE dog parks...so many are small, fenced in areas with the same shit dogs/ owners who have no training. Also they are gross!
Basically I'm just pissed to pay this fucking ticket haha...

@Mizmazzle laws don’t exist for people (or dogs) who follow them.

@endo big time and the whole eyeless thing just gives me the creeps
@Tago-Mago I tried smoking them out with raw insanity to no avail. I read somewhere that if you put a stick of juicy fruit in one of the exposed holes, that it will actually kill them if eaten. Very skeptical but cheap/desperate enough to give it a go. the idea of killing the vermin in this fashion sucks but I’m at that point

I noticed earlier this week that a new shop called 'Patina' had opened up in my City. Maybe it was wishful thinking, but with a name like that I thought the Midlands may had finally found a home for a store selling premium Japanese menswear a la Rivet and Hide... but nah, just the same kinda streetwear you can pick up in the Size? store around the corner.
