Random Rants

as long as posts use subtlety and nuance
have they ever been, on any topic?

Can I rant about people that talk and make phone calls in the quiet carriage of a train? I rank them on the same level as people that walk onto a London Underground platform (through the entrance arch) and stop to look left and right, like a deer in headlights, causing a barricade of frozen confusion. Please. Move. Out. Of. The. Way.
Livid.

@Nick or even worse, FaceTime conversations

Almost as bad as when people are not using headphones/earbuds and we get to listen to their music/YouTube video stream.
Naturally, this is countered by decent noise cancellation with my own earbuds.
I'm not normally this grumpy lol

@Nick I can definitely relate. I’d add people who stop dead at the top/bottom of escalators.
haha
I think it's the 'oblivious' personality trait that is grating. I seem to go out of my way to be aware of what's happening around me. Meanwhile, the rest of the world mocks me.

@Tago-Mago you’re on the right path, but still have some more training needed. You’ll fully be ready when you wake up and everything hurts, but you don’t know why. Gives you a reason to be just a little grumpy

I'll join in.
Airports are the most insanely infuriating places to circumnavigate. I have travelled a lot, so I am pretty well organised and usually know where I need to get to. Unfortunately just about every other fucker in the airport is lost, needs to stop suddenly to look at a departures screen or some tat in an overpriced "duty free" emporium, or wanders around aimlessly and in anything but a predictable straight line.
Then the dickhead in front of you at the security check in does not even think about getting prepped until he/she pulls the tray out. And he/she is usually the one that has liquids or scissors or nail files in the luggage which sets the machines off into a frigging meltdown, and delays everyone else in the queue whilst they argue with the security staff about all the shit they have on their person that needs to be confiscated.
You get onto the plane and then and only then do they think about getting out of their bags (yes loads of bags contrary to airline policy), all the shit they will need to comfort them on the flight, causing another bottleneck.
Yeah, I got back from Egypt a couple of days ago, and have another 7 international flights in the next 3 weeks.....
Luckily, despite it all being insanely frustrating, I am one of the coolest, calmest passengers there is. If I wasn't, I'd have had a stroke/heart attack years ado.
