Random Rants

Trickhell, couldn't agree more, but I'm sure you know the general population there is like 16-24 year olds that worship N&F. That being said, it is a complete hivemind where even an objective or appropriate criticism is met with immediate negative response. It's just arbitrary internet politeness… although I do post there sometimes...

Reddit is where I go when I want to talk myself out of a denim purchase. Five minutes reading their shit and I just want to put sweat pants on and eat pizza.
-
I don't even do reddit at all anymore, haven't logged in in months.
It has its moments, they just don't happen on r/rawdenim or any of the fashion subs.
For that matter, I don't enjoy any forums outside of this one and some on Facebook.

Sour beers are getting more popular, so more breweries are making them, and making more of them, which makes it very expensive for me when I go to the bottle shop.

Nothing like being halfway to the airport and getting a text informing you that your flight has been cancelled.
-
Southwest, which is actually one of the better airlines in the US. To be fair, the weather in Houston has been Biblical.

I had exactly that happen to me on the way to Heathrow on Sunday. The plane had gone technical, I'd rather they did the checks that they needed to before I had to sit in it for 12 hours and I understand that having "spares, just in case" is cost prohibitive. Shit happens, I just roll with it….

Yeah, we went home and had a pretty decent day. This is the first flight I've had cancelled on me in years, and given the flooding and meteorological mayhem we've had the last couple of days, it wasn't a huge surprise. 12 hours later, I'm sitting at the airport with a bit of deja vu, though.
-
What I find shocking is the lack of notice. They have a pretty good idea what's going on a lot further out than 2 hours for a cancelation. Delays fair enough, can't be helped, but to cancel an entire plane is a pretty serious call. Sounds like it was weather driven, having not read much about it, but have seen photos of cars floating down the street, surely they would have known there's a high likelihood of cancelling…..
Flight related, in a few days I have a 25 minute transfer @ Haneda airport. 25 minutes to get luggage between 2 planes let alone Mrs Snowy and I has me packing it. Qantas have assured me that it's a legal flight with the required times between flights etc etc....Our plane up to Sapporo today landed 25 minutes late :|. Will be calling Qantas tomorrow some time to see what my options are........
Somewhat related to thread topic. I was offered a "J Class" Upgrade for $100 on the flight up. Said YES PLEASE. Status credits alone is worth more than $100. Turns out AFTER I had the money on the table, he had no seats in J :(.
-
yeah snowy you had better change, 25minutes is too short for transfers.
i had a scoot flight to singapore from perth delayed on me for 18hours due to their systems glitch. i had another flight in 48hours to taiwan with singapore airlines. luckily for me, it didnt affect my schedule. though like giles mentioned. i'd rather all systems go, than having something unpleasant happening.

i'm sorry but if i've to be brutally honest. qantas has been in shits and is shit for the way they've been operating. alan joyce is just sitting at his office collecting his fat pay checks and yet no 'saving' life for the airline has proven effective. well that counts as a rant.
i just hope everything goes well for you on that day. think of it as the amazing race.
