White's Boots

I know, and I'm not trying to be a dick. If I was getting boots custom made I'd definitely get sized correctly, the only point I was making is that mine are all different widths, with no real noticeable difference (to me) in fit.

Besides, he's got boots that have between made with different lasts, which affects the fit. Those might all actually be his correct size for those configurations. Which is why knowing your "correct size" still doesn't prevent buying without trying on from being a complete crap shoot.

exactly… even the choice of having w/ or w/o Celastic toe will affect the actual fit. e.g. for me:
Alden Indy 8E = SD 8E = SD 8.5D = SD 8D Swing last = SJ 8.5E

@tmg:
Nice selection of boots Jamie, but I notice that they all share a (lowered) block heel - do you have any with the standard angled heel?
Hi tmg,
I maybe wrongly thought that it was a safe look for us Brits and Euro's. The next round of a bulk order I do will be more mixed up, colours and heels etc.. Plus am hoping people can build their own if they fancy. Same thing with the lowered heel, the standard is quite high as you know on all three styles, just though they looked a bit more everyday wearable lower. Trial and error
Cheers.

I agree from the point of view of an "uneducated" consumer, but I would hope the majority of people buying Whites (and similar brands) had done their research before purchasing. Personally, I think if a person is buying Whites boots, then safe might not be top of their agenda when it comes to buying Whites.
