The Real McCoys
-
Been eyeing peacoats for a while and after seeing the one of @babyknight and reading some stuff all the time as well as knowing I dont really own a wintercoat, I have pulled this dreamjacket. First I had a size 36 in a very slim fit yesterday but xchanged it to a size 38 today allowing future reserve and to wear a sweater or denim jacket under it. In this pic I wear the MF métis layered with MF okinawa shirt. What a jacket superexcited. 37oz double layered melton wool
Size 38

^^Yep, thats a sweet coat right there Looking good @davito !
-
Perfect fit as always. Isn't it great? All the little details….
-
Thanks guys, Yes its lovely @mclaincausey will snap some more pix of it soon
@Jeef thx man i love all my RMC jackets, out of these the pea coat is a real stunner, simple and highly functional. The parka is superb with a denim jacket or j100 under it or easy going with just a sweater.

The RMC pea coat is a marvel. I was blown away when mine arrived.

Do the Times writers work to be this pretentious, or does it just come naturally?
-
Agree with all comments.
-
It's probably done as #ironic or in jest at least, yes.
Actually, I expect it's completely serious. This is a fair representation of the institutional voice for Times articles, particularly outside the hard news reporting division. It is not a paper that does ironic or jesting. At least not often or well.
-
I agree that I don't think it's meant to be ironic. I realize that it might be hard to not sound pretentious talking about this, but….that articles on a whole other level. But that's probably how they want to be seen.
-
Okay, let me say it another way, they knew exactly what they were doing. They reference Lightning/Free&Easy etc. I'm sure the writer have read Monocle and Inventory and the like at some stage. They'd be aware of the standard tone/level for the article, and thought that it was time to turn it up to 11. You don't just happen to accidentally write an article that over the top.
Chris, I do get The Times. I'm still sure that the writer is probably high 5-ing the editor about how far they managed to push the line forwards with.
Back on topic, I went to The Real McCoy's in Shibuya the other day. Oh My God. Racks and racks and racks of leather jackets. Walls of T's, bunkers and alcoves and rooms dedicated to shoes. Seriously impressive store, and then some a few times over!
