Guitars anyone???

And in terms of acoustic - I went slimmer and lightest

Fender and Wrangler have collaborated on a denim guitar case.
Along with a series of straps.
More details at Music Radar, and the case and straps are available from Fender.

@Karol Cool, always wanted to try a guitar with true temperament frets.

@JunkPants
I can highly recommend it! The feeling has not changed at all compared to normal frets and the improvement in tuning evenness is substantial. Harmonics are finally in the same spot and sound the same as the fretted note.
And since those are stainless steel frets there should be no need to work on those exotic ones anytime soon. -
@Karol Nice! Yeah, I need to get my hands (and ears) on one at some point.

Bought this bad boy today from UK
12 fret Roy Smeck j45 replica

@George-Homme Beautiful. Love the dark burst

@George-Homme Ooh, very nice!

When I booked flights from Australia to the UK a few weeks ago, I looked into business class, but the price differential was over $6000 (Aussie) each way. I'd seen a Gibson Theodore in a local shop for $7000, so flying economy meant I would be able to buy that and come out ahead.
Surely that makes it a sensible purchase?
(No, I didn't get it. I probably should.)

Just picked up a 1964 Fender Bassman matching head and cab at a local pawn shop for $900 this afternoon. Don't really need it, but will likely use it to trade for something else.

@chrisjohnnick That is a great pickup for under a grand. Nice one

Richard Fortus of Guns 'n' Roses played a Dakota One built by Ivison Guitars at Glastonbury. There's an article at Guitar World that tells the story.
Unfortunately, I now have the urge to ask Neil Ivison to build me a single pickup Hurricane '59...
If you want more stories about obscure British luthiers making instruments for famous musicians, Simon Farmer of Gus Guitars made Prince's last guitar. Vanity Fair has the story.
I saw an early Gus guitar at a music show years ago. I don't think the design has changed greatly since, but they look really interesting.
