All Things Mac/ Apple

QFT. I have had the occasional issue with my sons' gaming laptops, and the "warranty" is basically a big middle finger (Samsung? Yoohoo!). We use MBPs for everything else, for a reason. My son dropped his iPad once (shattered, sha-dooby) and I went to an Apple store to by a replacement. I gave the "genius" the pieces of what my son dropped to recycle for me, and they took something like $200 US off the deal. How cool is that?
My 2011 MBP is in with the apple store. The display was going crazy greens/reds. It's out of all warranty, but being done under a general recall/replacement. $800AUD replacement for free. Any other vendor, and back in the day I used to do hardware/parts/etc, would say, sorry, that's natural wear/tear/usage of 4 years always on device. Apple goes, no no, it should last you more than 4 years, we're sorry our manufacturing wasn't up to par for you, and this isn't your fault, so we'll fix it for free.
It's stuff like this why I stick with Apple. Some of their hardware/options are annoying, their service bar none, number one.

Wow!!! How has no one mentioned the new music update to the phone? Holy shit, it's the worst thing I've ever seen. Absolutely moronic and fucking pisses me off!!!!
I now have 5 tabs, 4 of which I will NEVER use and 1 that encompasses all my fucking music! Last time I checked that was the only thing I wanted that fucking app to do!

Fuck apple. It's bad enough that you see "complete this album" all the fucking time, I disabled it and it took away the ITunes Store app too. Yeah, trying to get it to get rid of being harassed is equivalent to not wanting to buy music.
Well my screen is slightly loose so I'm going to try and abuse my warranty and get a new replacement phone, I'll be sure to mention how shitty the update is when I'm there!

New phones and OS less than 2 months away. This is the period where all our current phones stop working, magically :).
new iphone, new ipad mini and hopefully the skylake mbp15.

I'm still using my 2007 MBP 15" (well it is a bit of a Frankenstein, new logic board, memory and HD upgrades). I really want to upgrade soon though. I have my eye on a Refurb 13" MBP.

i've done a bit of work for my 11' 15mbp like rams and hdd to ssd. but nothing with logic etc that i dare touch. i'm more interested in geting retina display right now. the sharpness and color cannot be compared.

Retina is spectacular, I'm really happy I bought that. I got the first retina ones in 2012

I've got a brand new computer (PC) and my current phone is an iPhone. I don't use iCloud because I don't have Wifi at home, thus I back my phone up using iTunes and my computer. I've read some shit about people losing all the content of their phone when doing this with a new computer..
My question is: Is it safe for me to make a back up on my new computer (via iTunes), using my old phone?
-
i don't really use icloud. so i dont really see the problem with backing up onto a computer.

Hey Peter. Is your old iPhone already paired with a computer? If it is, you'll need to back it up through iTunes on that computer or use the iCloud. Your carrier might offer some cloud storage as well. But if you don't have Wi-Fi that could cost you a pretty penny in data charges. If you haven't plugged your old iPhone into a computer, you can feel free to use the new one. Hope that helps

Will there not be any other lines updated? iMacs maybe? Or is it purely a iPhone thing?
