IHV-33-IND - 12oz Indigo Wabash Hunting Vest

This is the xxl…
@neph93 what is your vestpert view on the sizing, given the likely shrinkage? The XL is slightly closer fitting, particularly across the chest.
It is a superb vest, I am very happy with it, I just want to get sizing right.

@Stuart.T I like «vestpert» a lot. Going to get some business cards done [emoji1]
As you say this is a utility vest. I suspect this is the reason it comes up relatively big compared to the IHV-02’s. In fact Kenta-san of Osaka branch posted on IG wearing it and he wore it really big and baggy. This is sort of irrelevant though because you don’t want space for your machete, compass and stolen idol. You want a good looking vest.
To be honest, both look good. If it were me I’d be looking for a closer fit and in that respect prefer the XL on you. For me the XL is the perfect mix of dashing and badass. The XXL is a little more relaxed and doesn’t create quite the same vibe.
I wouldn’t worry too much about shrinkage. It occurs mostly in the length and if you stick to 30-40C on low spin it will be negligible. Even if you blast the XXL on 90C and dry it, it will only be half way to the XL. Personal taste is key though as is your predicted use. Is this being worn only over a tee?
-
@neph93 I would mostly wear it over a tee, but maybe a UHF in autumn. I do need space to carry pillaged plunder, but the machete stays by the hip at all times.
I DO think the xl is more flattering given my portly proportions. Given the opening of these vests has a slight flarethat affects the silhouette. Decisions, decisions

I think you’d struggle with the a UHF under the XL. I also think that any form of plaid/check paired with stripes (even pinstripes) is an unforgivable fashion faux pa. But that is just me. Add «pretentious twat» to the business card.
I just had another look on my iMac monitor (as opposed to my phone) and the XL looks much better than XXL on the bigger screen. You’ll get loads of use in southern England over a tee and I suspect you could throw a type II or III over it for warmth. I’m off the fence and firmly in the XL camp.

Correct on every level. This vest in duck canvas would look great over a UHF…This not so much! (I tried and failed, though sizing of the xl over the UHF was actually ok).
I'm sticking with the xl, I love it, and Sarah, who hates vests, actually loves this one. The wonders it has done for our marriage
This will not be my last vest. Thanks for the help and advice buddy @neph93

I've been using this often alternating with the IHV-34-BLK depending on the outfit.
