The Mad Red Motherf**ker World Tour.
-
I'm Jeff. I live in Carver, MN which is about 25 miles southwest of Minneapolis. Minnesota is the land of 10,000 lakes but we have thousands more than that. Our northern border is Ontario Canada and we also border Lake Superior.
I'm a culinary trained chef who now works in the industrial ingredient sales industry as a Research and Development chef, helping large companies get new products on the market faster. I also side hustle as a private chef for small weddings and dinner parties and quite frankly, a lot of rich people don't ever cook and eat crappy food.
I'm happy to have the opportunity to tour this wonderful jacket. First things first, it fits me like every sample fits Giles, it seems was made specifically for me.
I'm tired of saying "before the pandemic we used to go out more and do stuff" but it seems fitting here as it's tough to get new venues to bring the jacket to.
That said…...
...
My wife and I went to Home Depot to buy some succulents and it was a perfect, well not perfect but ok place to kick off the tour.
Hey @Giles, look what Houdini slipped under the vest this time?
For dinner last night we made a quick stir fry with broccoli, chinese sausage, and Jasmine rice. We added marinated ramen eggs to the top, and garnished with a condiment i wish i knew about sooner.
This guy in the jeans and red jacket up here made for a quick and dirty "who wore it better?" competition. When I approached him with the results he wasn't too pleased.
Not the most scenic gas station, but the Mad Red sure added to the view

I take walks sometimes. with a vest
sometimes i take off the vest on my walks, and turn around
On occasion you also need to look mad to keep the mad red honest.

I am glad about that because this is a lot of fun already. Jacket looks great on you. Are you enjoying any double takes, strange looks, gaggles of young ladies running after you?
-
Yes! Great work already Jeff!

Currently I power walk through the grocery store so the 2 times I’ve worn it i haven’t paid attention to gawkers. I already have gaggles of women trying to tackle, but no increase has been noted of yet.
What is noted is how well constructed the jacket, how soft and heavy it is, and how well it’s cut. The fact that it didn’t sell, though I have no idea of the retail price, baffles me.

If I remember correctly @Red Hoodie Guy had it custom made, so there is only one of these. I'd imagine the original price tag would be around one thousand of your United States dollars.
-
Well thanks to Red hoodie guy for the indecision.
Tomorrow we ride.

This was a really fun day, and the "reason" we discussed the Mad Red landing in MN in the first place. In a late happy hour discussion with @neph93 and Giles, we all thought it would be suited for horseback riding.
Along with the Mad Red, I'm debuting my Ship John sample denim i got from @Brock when he sent it along, and my new Schnee's boots, which look much better on location @Appfaff.
Thanks to my wife for spending so much of her time taking photos, which honestly she couldn't care less about outside of admiring my (and this community's) passion for this brand.
We have 2 horses, Firefly (13) and Nola (5). Nola is named after New Orleans, LA where my wife and I got married. Firefly isn't rideable at the moment due to arthritis issues, so Dreamer gladly (?) takes her spot on the trails. The owners of the property have 6 horses of their own, so there are 8 at the ranch in all.
We have a 3-horse slant load trailer we pull with my wife's F-150.
Before loading up the horses, we usually tack them (saddles and saddle pads, etc.) and pick their hooves. When picking their hooves, you are cleaning out the natural crevices in the hoof and looking for stones that are wedged in that could cause damage to the hoof.
The trail head is a 15 minute drive from the ranch and is a park named Murphy-Hanrehan, named after 2 lakes in the park. it's around 1300 acres and has around 15 miles of horse trails, many of which are shared with hikers, and snowshoers, and dog walkers. Once we arrive we check our tack and saddle up.
I don't know if the mad red played a role, but this ride had the most people taking photos of us on the trails as we passed by. Maybe 50 people stopped to photograph the horses, and we were the only riders out there.
Back at the farm after riding, I always run out to give Firefly the remainder of the carrots we brought as treats/bargaining chips. As you can see it draws a crowd every time.
The Mad Red came home full of grain remnants, horse slobber, liquid medicine splashes and general ranch dirt. It was happy to be a part of it.

That whole outfit looks sick!!!
I still need to decide which model of Shcnees
I need - I think I’m going with the Campers…Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

those Campers would be some serious slip on's Adam.
I fell in love with my Western Pac boots yesterday. Warm, breathable, flexible, not bulky, and fit great in the stirrups.
-
Such an Epic update! I’m glad the mad red made a stop in MN..

I recently started back up playing pool league after an almost year hiatus due to Covid restrictions.
I wore the mad red during warm ups, but it got a little hot so i didn't use it as an intimidation factor during matches. This thing feels right at home under the pool lights.

Fully enjoyed your pics and text from your horse ride in the snow @jordanscollected . I’ll look forward to pics from your rides with the other 5 horses who are waiting for their turn.
-
Thanks @motojobobo There is one other horse I ride on occasion out there, an 18 year old one eyed horse named TJ. Dreamer, who I've been riding exclusively, has needed the exercise for weight loss and has shown amazing results. before then she was wearing a grazing muzzle which slows down the speed they can wolf down hay.
-
Always enjoyed seeing pics of your IH gear in the wild with the horses @jordanscollected . The mad red took it up another level!!! & your wife did a fantastic paparazzi job
-
Thanks Roxanne, my wife did a fantastic job and didn't even roll her eyes that day.

Great posts @jordanscollected
