Luggage Bags and Packs

Well done and welcome to the club!
-
@Graeme those Steinhauser pieces are impressive, especially like their small leather goods. I am a sucker for a horseshoe coin case and theirs is so well done, I could see myself falling for it.

The horseshoe coin case does look lovely.

Just ordered a Rofmia Daypack v 2 when I happened to notice they’re in stock. I do not need this bag but a certain change coming makes me want something slightly less… bulky? Mil spec? I can’t say techy… than my beloved Defy VX VerBockel. I opted for Daypack over Backpack because my roomy VerBockel can suit the former use case and I feel this is a justifiable gap to fill even though I have a suitable Briggs & Riley laptop daypack.
Gonna be a long 1-2 week wait, I’ve had my eye on this bag for a long time.

Thanks @mclaincausey for yet another brand I have to watch
That bag reminds me a bit of my Evergoods Phoenix which is like a Goruck mixed with a Nomin. I like it
-
Hehe I’ll post a review when she lands for you @Anesthetist and @Graeme
-
Took the Samurai for a hike at the zoo and I like how the GR-1 rides high and tight on my shoulders. The straps are pretty stiff but that’s a Goruck given.
On the bright side, the fabric is starting to show some bumps and bruises and I imagine it will look great with more wear. -
The Rofmia Daypack V2 has landed.
Let’s put some electronics in the outer chamber. When I’m using the battery, it has long cables and I could route them from here or one of the water bottle pockets to devices charging.
Ok next a notebook and a shell. Note the zippered compartments here for other knickknacks.
Laptop and bulky sunglasses.
Looks good!
Horsehide details and the third zip on the main compartment makes it easy to retrieve my shell from the bottom of the pack when the bag is slung off my right shoulder.
The thing is really tiny but easily fits what I need it to for a dressier business bag than my single travel Defy VerBockel. I love it. It feels good to wear. I’m over the moon!
One advisory note, if you have greater than a 42” chest the chest strap may not make it especially if you layer. Easily replaced though.

thanks for that detour @Graeme
The rucksack , the whole deal

That thing is very cool @mclaincausey
-
@Anesthetist and @mclaincausey they're both cool bags. Keus still have a few of the bigger GoRucks in (and I'm tempted), whilst my chest is definitely too big for the chest strap on the Rofmia.
@steelworker I agree, his work looks fantastic.

Touchdown of the GR1 today. I'm impressed, it's fairly heavy as mentioned before. I like the denim, but I will need to get used to how high it sits on my back. I guess that will prove to be comfortable in the long run, but for now it is fairly unusual.
In other news, I'm getting a leather briefcase made for work (I'm a lawyer). Met the guy behind this business on the Heritage Post (the magazine) trade show last year: https://siegmundundfritz.de/

@goosehd: Here's a picture of the work in progress, the leather and the tweed for the inner lining.
The technical detail behind the bag is: they're in principle made of one piece of leather. Thus you're limited in the size of the bag because bulls only grow up to a certain size. As I wanted to have more storage room, the upper closure will get a little shorter, whereas the volume of the bag increases. -
Obsessed with this thang. Got my EDC load out set with all of the batteries, chargers, adapters, office supplies, etc, with only a hero clip left to add to the mix, and I have hella space left thanks to the efficiency of organization.

GR1 with patches up.
-
@chrisjohnnick that’s a hell of a find!! How do you like the bag? I’ve been considering their Wilder
-
@Mizmazzle it's definitely well built, but I'm finding it's not really my style compared to a couple other bags I've got.
