@goosehd I would say that at least 75% of the time in my brain I'm thinking about denim fades.
That is brilliant! Love it.
haha, figured you would Brue

@Oaktavia haha. This is exactly how my brain works. I love to take the photos and give a daily inspection at the end of each day. Sort of like watching grass grow…but then I love the look of my lawn too!!
I think of it as #wearableart and as the denim fades, the art develops like a photo in slow mo'. I love the slow weathering process of the fades and do it entirely for that reason.

@Oaktavia It's only natural to think of where it (you) are going, whether it changes the journey for you or not. I enjoy every stage of evo for different reasons. Leather and denim may be apples to oranges, but I do consider my favorite stage of any clothing or footwear to be right before it falls to bits. It's great when things take longer to get to that stage, but that peak is always an ephemeral thing. What i appreciate about IH and other nice/well-made/fading/patina-ing items, is that the thrill-period is significantly longer than regular, disposable items. And the lead up to it is more enjoyable.
Like a good song or movie, the climax is only as good as the build up to it. Having said that, I've bailed on a handful of things because I just didn't enjoy 'the journey' enough to get there. This big black buck tho - seems like a masterpiece to me.

@WhiskeySandwich beautifully put sir, I couldn't agree more, nor could I have put it better myself. I too, enjoy the ride from when I get on, bumps, twists and turns along the way, all that shit. These sorts of conversations are what makes this forum so great. We are able to validate our familiar thoughts and expressions in a place where many of us feel that same way about things.

@Oaktavia
As always beautiful shots and looks amazing man -
@meatmarketdenim1 thanks dude, I appreciate it!

@WhiskeySandwich @Oaktavia holy shit gentlemen, well put.

@Oaktavia @Mizmazzle I haven’t quite reached the point where I take daily pics (probably cos of my decrepit 7 year old iPhone) but I too give whatever I’ve been wearing that day a good inspection whenever I take it off usually when my wife is in the bathroom before bed and won’t get the chance to laugh at me for it

LOL I do this too, but I do it in front of her and she rolls her eyes and says something like, "whadd're you doin?!" in a teasing way. She knows damn well what I'm doing. The fluorescent lights in our bathroom show the fades well!
-
@DeeDee85 haha...I remember the wife laughing at me days... I think I've finally "normalized" these behaviors in our house to the point that it's just normal for us to be chillin on the couch in the evenings....her in her sweats and old t shirt, me in many hundreds of dollars worth of denim!
-
@Mizmazzle I am just glad I am not the only one like this.
-
@Mizmazzle this is definitely a thing also.. I can see the disappointment in my wife’s eyes when she cuddles up to me on the sofa that a 16oz cardboard SBG shirt just isn’t as nice to snuggle into as a sweater
And advice taken @Oaktavia ill start doing my daily inspection in the bathroom when my wife’s finished in it -
-
Fuck yeah!
-
-
@kkibbey23 it's an amazing thing to wear isn't it? I'll have mine on tomorrow.
-
I’m so glad it’s finally cooled down a bit so I can wear them both again
