IHSB-BIGBUCK-BLK - Black Deerskin Western Shirt - The Big Buck
-
@Raisinoux yeah, I just avoid wearing certain shirts under other shirts for that reason.
-
@Raisinoux @Oaktavia This layering business isn’t easy!
-
@Oaktavia that looks fucking amazing!
-
@louisbosco thanks dude! I have been wearing it ton since the party. It fits snugly over my Type 1, its perfect for that sort of layering.
One thing I was wondering about, it seems as the black fades away, the natural color is revealed on the outside. I don't see any brown like the photo examples of Haraki's. I am wondering if it first fades to the natural light yellow/tan and then from there darkens to brown with patina? @Giles is this correct?

No idea Stevie. All I know is that it started off deep black, and it is what it is now. I did not see it regularly between a and b.
Sorry
-
@Oaktavia It seems natural that your presumptions are correct though. Looking great.
-
@Mister_Brue I think that must be it. Nine years is a long time for all the patina to change the shirt to that brown color. I'm just scratching the surface. Pleased with the results so far, though. And faster than expected.
-
@Oaktavia how will you clean / wash it?

There is a detailed answer to this question a while back in this topic that @goosehd shared a few times. I plan to hold off on that as long as I can for now. I have spot cleaned gently and not gently with different results so far.
-
@Oaktavia Thank you. I saw his response, too. I have had very good results with a professional cleaner on my pale rider - I think I'll use them when I need this one cleaned, too.

Are these able to be treated with any sort of product? Or are these meant to be left as they are? @Chap
I have no experience with any products just brush off dirt if necessary and leave it as it is. It looks perfect @Oaktavia
-
@Oaktavia now you got me curious how its lookin, update?

The leather becomes more and more close to the undyed, natural color in areas with more wear off. The black dye becomes brown with sunlight, water, sweat, wear time.
It is nothing delicate and needs no special care or treatment, this is hard wearing workwear at its best.
Example of a well worn Austrian Lederhose from the Salzkammergut area that once was black like your shirts.
