Oh yeah, wicked plumber's butt. Don't lean forward if you're eating at a fancy restaurant. On the other hand, it's the perfect excuse to buy more belts. I like this one…

I have really enjoyed following this thread the past couple of months. I was immediately hooked and had to order a pair. I love the color and the sheen of this denim. Even though I have had several other brands of 20+ ounce denim jeans, these are quite a bit different. The first jeans I remember being more comfortable to stand and walk in than sitting. Not that that is necessarily bad, I tend to sit too much. Getting in/out of the car and trying to step to the side is a small challenge. Because of this I have not worn them much yet - only times I know I will be walking and standing a few hours. Even with this little wear I am noticing they are starting to shape to my body. Sort of strange feeling a stiff pair of jeans becoming fitted to my body without becoming much softer. Similar to the way my boots shaped to my feet! They do get better every time I wear them. And each time I wear them I have fewer instances of "no, you are not stepping that high" or "no, you are not stepping to the side".

In Singapore for a few days and wouldn't let the heat and humidity stop me wearing my 666 25ozers. But somehow they got stained just walking around in them on the lower left leg near the hem. Marks and stains are all part of their life this mark is far from subtle although it gets lost a bit in the stacks. Doubt there's much I can do about it. Adding a good wear pic too.

Just bought these from the VMC Original Store (best jeans store in the world?) and have a couple of questions. From reading through the thread and talking to the awesome staff in Zurich, it seems that a soak or wash might take an inch off the length but nothing in the waist of legs (which is perfect as I'm leaving them long to cuff and the thighs are already tight).
Question is, they are bleeding quite a lot, I have blue stains on the chinos I was wearing while looking at the jeans and my hands were blue after turning them inside out a couple of times to soften them up. Would a wash or soak minimise this? Also, if the length is going to shorten up a bit, am I better soaking sooner rather than months down the line so that I can iron in the cuffs at the length I want them without needing to change them in the future?
Cheers,
john

Jonnyt: if I can throw in my few pennies worth of denim knowledge:
Yes, a soak WILL minimise the rubbing off of the blue colour, as lots of the excess colour on the surface gets washed away.
Yes again, if you are set on a soak, you may want to do it before serious wear, so you wear them in the length after the soak. Ironing the cuff is quite unneccessary in my experience, they set their crease nicely by themselves.
And if you've any concern about shrinkage in the waist, do the classic bathtub ritual and WEAR the jeans in the tub and let them dry on your body. Besides all pratical benefits of assuring they can't possibly shrink too much in the top block, it's a denim-sensual experience that really makes the jeans your own.
But Seul has more experience with this brand, my knowledge stems from other dry denims.

Point taken, Giles!
