just took delivery of the mermaid CPO shirt MP14102. i think it's the best single piece i've ever had from mccoy and i've bought pretty much most of it over the past 5 years. i had a buzz rickson from a few years ago which is a nice shirt but absolutely no comparison with the mccoy take. i think it's based on a custom built original of a top quality felted wool; secret interior pocket and, of course, the mermaid cuff detail. worth every penny from the best label in the world.

RE: The Real McCoys
@qinhan: how is sizing in these? A comparison to Viberg or White's sizing (if possible?) would be cool. Thx in advance!
Enjoy ya addiction!
i have a pair incoming. i understand if you are a size 8 in the UK you should be taking a US size 8 in the boondockers. superdenim have a statement to that effect on their website and i was advised by vintage paradise that they are 'true to size'. US width fitting D.

Overdyed Tigerstripe M65 jacket…...
Looks beautiful! Anyone seen this in the http://www.superdenim.com/prodpage.asp?productid=3868
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
its a lovely jacket. the tiger stripe doesn't show through at all at this point but i'm looking forward to some wear and tear showing up the detail. great transitional jacket it will see a lot of action in autumn as its a wee bit to hot for it in london at the moment.

RE: The Real McCoys
Got my tees today and I have to say they're pretty spot on.
The fit is just right for me and the fabric is pretty interesting. Pretty regular on the outside and very soft to the touch but has a decent bit of irregularity on the inside. The weight is good too, not too light or heavy.
These rank up there with Tezomeya and TFH tshirts in my opinion.
I still need to try out SG tees, but seeing as the sizing is pretty tiny I probably won't be able to.i've been sent a large from the nice lads at vintage paradise to try these t-shirts out.
its a good fit now but i understand shrinking is significant in this style so i'm ordering XL.
how have yours washed so far?

More pics, Quality isn't too hot (taken on an iPhone)
Over all I couldn't be more pleased with this amazing shirt! In my opinion the cut and shape of the shirt is fantastic, pretty short in the body Which I like and the size is spot on for layering which is the whole reason I bought it,
The wool is so thick and warm, I had a bout 2 miles to walk this morning to work and it's down to -2 here, I had a t-shirt, Cabourn Roll neck and this on top and was as warm as toast walking in!
i got this bad boy in red. its lush; heavy wool that is thicker than a filson jacket so expecting it to be very warm in the winter.
my only gripe is that the buttons seem a little small given the sheer thickness of the wool.
perhaps things will loosen up over time but they are a little fiddly to button up.

@Max:
I think one size down would be too small or uncomfortable. And it hasn't been washed yet. But I must say I love it more and more…
don't size down big man they shrink a lot in the wash.
i'm finding the summer sweats in large tight round the midriff compared to the winter weights and that's pre wash.
i've had a of mccoy delivered in the past few weeks will post later today.

RE: Levi's
@Dirty:
Levi's 511's
Asos Tee
$30 bootsi got some 505 'unwashed' selvedge from asos. hilarious. not only washed but clearly so. i got them in the sale for £80 but did anyone really pay £160 for these? cinch seemed to think it was through ignorance but this is a major retailer selling a major brand. page one surely?
-
RE: Levi's
there is no love with LVC at the moment. limited sizing - no 33 and they have dispensed with 28 and 36 at cinch - but also cone mills or not the selvedge isn't anything like as good as the lee riders. what's the point in a premium line if you are sabotaging your own brand at point of sale?
-
RE: Nudie Jeans Co.
never been that interested but have to say some of these look peachy - boot cut is NEVER a good idea for me but the slim fit is boss.

RE: The Real McCoys
50% .. Can you post an example please …
look at superdenim in the UK and marvel at the mccoy oxford in white for £225 then got to rakuten vintage paradise and find the same shirt for under £120. come on big man google is your friend.

RE: The Real McCoys
The 3 pairs of pants I've had all shrank to tagged size after a few washes, so if they look baggy when trying on new , they wont stay that way.
truth be told. i have an actual 35" waist but 34" double diamond chinos were lose as a goose when i first received.
two washes in they are superb. perfect drape across my batty and while initially seemed lose around the calf its a size readjustment after two years of super narrow fit. excellent fabric with a glorious texture that has already started to show off now its had a wash.
has anyone else being taking advantage of the japanese exchange rate in the UK? ratkuten currently offering better than 50% off mccoy and rickson if you shop direct with japan.

RE: IH-707 - Mercerised Cotton Chino Pants
IH-707 - Mercerised Cotton Chino Pants
Cold mercerised to retain and enhance the cottons natural sheen.
Raw, so expect between 0.5 and 1" shrinkage in the waist and about 1.25" in the inseam. On our shrink test we got 0.5" in the waist and 1" in the inseam, but I believe there is a tad more shrinkage to be expected…
29-40
USD275
These will go up on the site tomorrow. I'm hosed. If you want to buy a pair in the interim, drop me a PM…
ach these are superb how can they be sold out the minute i get the email?
good work all will have to pay closer attention to the forums.

RE: The Real McCoys
double diamond chinos arrived when i was away in chamonix. they are lovely but a very roomy 34" so currently on their first wash to see if we can knock them into shape. in terms of buying mccoy legwear should i just treat the sizing as the same as US jeans brands? with the shirts; jackets and sweats i size up to large or 16" collar as opposed to 15" brooks brothers.
i wonder what sartre would have had to say about japanese medium?

RE: The Real McCoys
@Sugar:
A little more info… Toys McCoy is run by Hiroshi Okamoto (the guy on the right in the pic below). He split with the McCoys that came to be owned by Hitoshi Tsujimoto of NYLON in the 1990s as I understand it. Toys McCoy sub brands include McHill, the Steve McQueen line and Buco.
The McCoys underwent a strange break up of partnerships that is forever difficult to understand unless you are an insider and rumours ran amok that the president had squandered the profits on ridiculous things including a B-17 bomber. As it happened a new Real McCoys / Toys McCoys emerged but it was different with Hiroshi Okamoto at the helm gone was the feeling of ultra authenticity and stripped down military utilitarianism and what replaced it was an air of safeness, a cutesy world of Disney characters and the over exploited Felix the Cat icon that smacked of the same Japanese-ness that exploits Hello Kitty or Captain Santa, essentially I felt the Real McCoys had become the Cockpit, over indulgent, over detailed and overpriced.
http://papanuisays.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/critiquing-market-lets-be-honest.html
interesting post and i would have to love a president that could get hold of a b-17 but looking at hiroshi's own commercial/film here three of the first four jackets have bugs bunny; tasmanian devil and felix the cat as their main logos!

RE: The Real McCoys
Cheers for all the nice comments I absolutely love it!
hey jord
what size are you? i see its marked 16 in the collar which is what i took in the mccoy western denim shirt.
in the UK i'm a 15 collar but i find a lot of japanese shirts can come up too tight at that size
