And the maple people (like a number of others) simply sew in a layer of kevlar or Aramid in relevant areas which works fine as well, if weaving it in the fabric is too complicated.

RE: Iron Heart Products - What do you think we should make?
I understand Giles, but somehow having all that motorcycle bravado and not a single motorcycle-ready pair of jeans is strange as well. May some collab with a great brand in that area? Like Belstaff, Lewis Leathers or something of the sort?

RE: Iron Heart Products - What do you think we should make?
I would really like to buy reinforced motorcycle denim jeans from you, because I think even the expensive options our there look awful. A good choice of polyamid seems to be Schoeller Dynatec, but there are also various Aramid and Kevlar variants that can be woven into the denim cloth. Some protector pockets would make sense too, to fit d3o or similar. As rugged as the 21+ Denim IHS' might be off the bike, they will go up in smoke in no time when sliding over tarmac. http://www.schoeller-textiles.com/en/fabric-groups/protection/schoeller-dynatec.html

RE: White's Boots
i like leather laces on my Oxfords, not so on my SD's, I am afraid. They are simply too loud, I think.
I will try my luck at a few local makers again to find the right pair of laces. -
RE: White's Boots
I have to say, I dislike the flimsy laces White's packs with the Semi-Dress. I have been looking for really (!) well made laces for a while, but so far, I have't found what I am looking for. Either they are too loosely knit (which makes them unravel and catch the hooks) and/or the ends splice too soon. Any recommendation?

RE: White's Boots
I once wore only one 22-EE sized Smoke Jumper made from Tasmanian devil backside leather with both my feet in them.
As I was sitting on the front porch all day with my feet up on the veranda, overlooking the western territories, that was as comfy as it gets.(seriously folks, size questions on internet forums are useless. send a trace and stop worrying)

RE: White's Boots
nice one! it is also illustrating my point that natural CXL is Horweens version of pre-aged. Basically natural CXL shows
all existing blemishes, not only your own. It also reacts to oils and preservatives in a much more visible way, simply because it is lighter.
I do like the look, but for HWBC I don't think it is a choice that should compete in the same class as finished leather variations. -
RE: White's Boots
you need a rubber sole if you wear them in the rain or snow a lot. cycling with leather soles is also not too pleasant.
the soles on my double leather SD's show wear but are still far from needing a replacement after two years of service.

RE: White's Boots
I think natural CXL makes boots look like they've got more patina earlier. In a way, that feels like a shortcut, but I doubt the end result will look as cool as one of those standard White's leathers that evolve more slowly, but also more credibly.

RE: White's Boots
Although single these soles are stiffer an tougher to break in than vibergs imo!
Enjoy ya addiction!
Very nice bike! (Boots, what boots?)
