@teddyjay thanks! I’ll look them up. I bought an inner down liner jacket from Danton but it turned out too big for a type 2. Funny since they said it was slim and I ordered a small….

RE: Show us your boots
@popvulture yeah they’re super nice & the mid height is a fun change up. I thought the steel toe cap would be tricky but that turned out to be kinda fun too. My only qualm might be the mid cut height has been brutal on my ankles, but it seems to be lessening with wear.

RE: Show us your boots
Snow day in Brooklyn so I broke out my old red wing moc toe. These were my first pair of real boots 12 years ago… a gateway drug for sure!

RE: Y'2 Leathers….
Ok, so maybe a random question, but does anyone know of any liners that would work under a Y2 type 2? Most I’ve seen are likely too long or too thick to work in the shorter body length. My goal is to extend my Y2 season!

RE: Show us your boots
@Mizmazzle the leather is super nice, and the break in seems pretty easy. I really like them. Worth the wait! My only note is that the back of the speed hooks have some sharp edges that seem to be abrasive on the tongue, but I might try and burnish/sand them off.

Finally got my grail boots! John Lofgren combats in olive cxl. Walked 2 miles to my studio…so far so good!

@Mizmazzle Thanks man! To be honest, it’s nicer than my first skin

Breaking in the Boneakers. The sole is soft, but the leather is stiff! Pretty comfy though..planning on wearing them on an upcoming trip to Berlin

RE: John Lofgren (Speedway)
@Mizmazzle Will do. I actually have JL USN low quarter derbies in 9.5 and they fit nicely. That tracks with SS recommendation to size down a half size for the derbies, so they seem to be accurate in their fit advice.

RE: John Lofgren (Speedway)
I’m obsessed with JL’s Olive cal Combat Boots, but have seen so many different recommendations on sizing. I’m a bit confused. JL’s site recommends .5 down from Brannock, Standard and Strange recommends 1 size down. I’d tend to trust the manufacturer but so many other sites say 1 full down as well. I had a pair of Viberg 1035 in 9.5 and felt they were too big. I have Red Wing Moc Toes in 9.5 and they fit fine. I’m wondering if I should go 9 or 9.5 in the Combats? Thanks!

RE: Double Helix
My Double Helix custom Type 3 arrived this week. Really happy with the fit, and break in doesn’t seem too bad. It’s a little lighter than my Y2 type 2.

RE: WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY (PICS)
@Nik Yeah, totally agree. This was the show that got canceled…not sure what has changed in the past few years…his work definitely hasn’t. The show is great, and there were some surprises in there too. Worth a trip if you can make it!

))) Went to the National Gallery in Washington DC and saw an amazing exhibition on Philip Guston…he may have been a Viberg fan too!

RE: IH-777S-142ib - 14oz Selvedge Denim Super Slim Tapered Jeans - Indigo/Black
Any suggestions on sizing given the anticipated 1” waist stretch? Do people size down an 1” from their normal size and struggle for a bit, or go TTS off the bat and have a little room later to dink beer and eat pasta? Thanks!

RE: American Football (NFL)
@natehate I don’t mind Jimmy G, but it’s hard to see him as an upgrade from Carr. I was surprised you guys weren’t better last year. I agree with you about McDaniels though.

RE: American Football (NFL)
@natehate well, at least your uniforms are nice right? Still the best logo in the NFL too
