Man this is awesome!

Wow, an 8.6mm thick automatic? That sounds fantastic. I love flat watches. 35.5mm wide seems a bit small, even with the large face to case ratio. Great looking watch, though. I'd really like to see the entire Nomos line up in person, since I suspect they're even more impressive than the pictures can convey.
-
You are absolutely correct about being impressive in person. It might not wow the guy who bought a 47mm high polish Breitling just because some busty saleswoman told him to, but it will bring a smile to your face. Nomos cases are thin, elegant, strong, and hug the wrist well. Dials are clear, concise, and well finished. My watch is a joy to wind and keeps time to 4s a day. Hard to find a fault with this watch.

Nice clean looking Nomos. Congrats @Anesthetist . Is that Kapital jacket you're wearing?

Thanks man, I have had her for about 5 years now. Never regretted it once!
Good eye on the Kapital. Great jacket with a very unique fabric and look.

that's a very nice piece, @Anesthetist

Looks like Patek have got into the smartwatch game!
OK, it's actually the new Patek 5370P, which will retail at around $249K. The "Email" is French for enamel. More over at Hodinkee.
Sticking with Pateks, there's a hands on with the Pilot's Watch at aBlogToWatch. They even posted a video on it.
Is it just more, or are other people annoyed by the super shallow depth of field they use? Yes, you've got a large sensor, but shooting with the lens wide open and not focusing properly isn't big or clever.
-
isn't that the new spilt second chrono? and yeah the video isn't focused on it. it's kinda distracting.
-
No idea why someone thought it necessary to annotate what materials are used on a watch face.
The Minimatik has me conflicted. On the one hand there is a lot to like, but on the other the styling looks like that of a watch several price tiers beneath it.

Here's my latest acquisition, a Bulova 96A102:
and a lume shot, because it's pretty impressive:
Really enjoying the watch. Would prefer if it were a bit smaller and mechanical, in keeping with its military style.
I used to own a Seagull 1963 watch. I still do own it, but the watch face fell off and I noticed too late to save the hands from being mangled. A very beautiful (and cheap) watch, but evidently not very well built. Stock photos below, because I never thought to take pictures of my own:

I like the two tone Lume on the Bulova, an interesting feature that I don't think I have seen before.
-
I've seen it done on a few watches, but I think Ball Watches does it best, using a mix of tritium tubes to produce multicolor dials.
