It's getting close, times are getting exciting!
So, moral/professional dilemma. I'm going to college for my bachelors in accounting. I got a very entry level job at a bank/wealth management company in their payroll department. Our entire building is no client contact, unless there is a client meeting. I have no contact with clients either way. Dress code is business casual with jeans acceptable because of the no client contact. Other branches that have actual banks are business professional with slacks. Everyone in my building wears jeans, both the men and women. Up to this point I've worn a shirt and tie with slacks for two reasons which I've mentioned, I like dressing up, and the whole "dress for the job you want, not the job you have"; so, do I continue to wear a tie and slacks everyday or, do I claim too busy with school to maintain, and join the crowd and go open collar and jeans to get more contest wear in.
Serious first world problem here.
I absolutely love wearing denim with a sport coat. It's such a great combo!

@Megatron1505 how often will we need to submit updates? I'm guessing monthly?
What can cause disqualification? In the event I have a blowout and need a repair which takes longer than a month, will that constitute grounds for disqualification from the challenge?
Will an official set of rules be posted as we near the beginning or at the start date? I've never entered a contest so I'm not 100% on how it all works.
Thanks!!

Maybe some denim days at first, and do you have to forgoe the closed collar/necktie look just because you're wearing denim. See how that affects your perception in the office and adjust accordingly.
I feel ties are too formal for denims casualness, but maybe behind a sport coat as tfahey00 has mentioned

I think this might be the best solution, and it's going to be getting cold so another layer is always good!
Super excited for the contest. Going to get in my denim this weekend. Ya know, amnesty wears and all.

Here's my denim with a sport coat and bowtie. I don't think it looks out of place…

Updates are preferred monthly, unless you have a good excuse like a blow out. I'm going to drop a ruling in about no more than 8 weeks between updates I reckon, that should be more than enough time to solve most emergencies and if it isn't then the contestant probably has more to worry about in life than a denim contest ???

Classy! The jacket ties it all together, I'm going to have to hustle up some money to get one.

are you going to create a new thread to start things officially? or do we keep going from here..
-
I'm easy guys, a submissions thread would probably be cleaner but the build up content is good for reference info.

I'm off to IH Hq Monday to choose a pair for the comp. Got a couple of ideas. I'll let you know what I ended up with on Monday.

I'd totally melt wearing a 25oz jean during the summer. Holy crap! I'm entering boring old Levi's 501XX 1947s. 14oz is going to keep me from smelling like a bog in July…
My thoughts are the same.....'What can I comfortably wear most of the year and also take on holiday'.
-
25oz breathes surprisingly well, 21 is also good. The 14od is less breathable than the standard 14, but still good summer jeans.
-
Are the 25oz more breathable than the original 18oz?

I'd say so yes. The 18oz and UHR are the two IH denims that breathe the least.
Oh damn…you've just given me a ray of light. I've never really given them a second thought since I live in the middle of a desert but if they are that breathable then they might be doable for winter.
