I have a 7 Plus so I'm tempted by the X but still want to see one in person before taking the dive.
-
i scored one but no way in hell am i selling that..
-
nice. i'll be picking one up on launch day after work. quite excited to see how this new generation turns out..
-
OH BOY I LOVE THE X. ignore the mess
-
Worth the price? @louisbosco

i'm a little bias on apple. sold my soul to them years ago, anything is worth it.
on a slightly serious note, it's nice. but the excitement will soon fade away. the glass back with the screen looks amazing. and this is me coming from a 7plus. the new features from the 7 to X are well… you'd probably not find yourself using it that much, let's put it that way. i have not have an extensive use of the camera to comment just yet. but face ID is brilliant and i'd expect even more for years to come..

I'm very tempted, but not £79 a month (which is what my network is offering the phone at) tempted. I'll go with an 8plus I reckon.
-
the oled display is really good. gimmicks and new tech aside, i'm very happy with the OLED screen. so much more vibrant and appealing to look at.
the true tone display is something that i'm not able to tell the difference. i've never used the night mode as well so that doesn't affect me as much with the white balancing of the brightness. the subconscious part of my brain misses pressing the home button, but so far, usage has been pretty smooth..

Has anyone carried out the High Sierra software upgrade and lost there administrator privileges?
My user account is now standard and I cant add or update any software on my machine.
I took it to a guy I use and he thinks the only way is to save everything, wipe it and reinstall.
Just seeing if anyone knows a way round without doing it like that.
I've tried the 'root, no password' option to no avail.

You could try this:
Boot in single-user mode: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201573
Give yourself admin privileges via the terminal: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201573 -
Maybe, issue I have is all the other demands on the funds, and no I don’t mean IH!
I don’t mind paying up front for the product, security, software patches, etc, but hardware improvements are increasingly interative and minor, and the higher upfront cost is making me pause now. -
I have a 7 Plus so I’m probably grabbing the smaller XS. Also considering the watch, I still just have the original model.

So anyone going for the new iPhones?
i actually decided no this time after years of getting consecutive models since the 4s.
but i've kinda changed my mind. IF i can get my hands on a China/HK model of the Xs Max, i will get it. because only for the dual Sim tray and not the stupid eSim, that is worth my time. since it helps me a lot to have 2 sims in 1 phone while travelling rather than 2 phones..
