I’m not sure when they moved to the larger location, but what was once an Allegro coffee shop (mids at best) is now a Huckleberry Roasters (one of the better local roasters) and it opens right into Berkeley. Pretty sweet!

Marked my calendar. Wife will be in Barcelona, but Hattie and I would come for sure!

There is talk of a little in store event at Berkeley Supply Co on 28th Jan which myself and Adam C will attend. More details to follow soon
Is this still potentially happening? I'll for sure be there if so.

Really wish we could make it. @Madame Buttonfly and I planned to be there, but then we had to book a sailing course and the only dates we can do the course clash with this. SHIT…...

Boooooo!

This will be a fun event, wish we could be there, Giles and I will follow the party on this thread - it will give us much-needed light relief as we finish our 6-day yachtmaster course on Saturday 28th and then have our 1-day diesel engine maintenance course on Sunday 29th.
Yep, living the dream

Some things nearby (all within feet and walkable):
Huckleberry Roasters adjoins the shop. One of the better local coffee chains.
Queen City Optical is right around the corner. Pretty large Jacques Marie Mage collection as well as other great brands. Great place.
Tatarian is a craft cocktail lounge. Not been yet
Vital Root is a great vegan restaurant
Juicy Lucy’s has good burgers including the namesake cheese stuffed burger
Post Oak is pretty good barbecue and a good bar
Denver Biscuit Company does breakfast and then turns into Fat Sullys a NYC style pizza place. Counter serves slices until late. If you don’t mind driving Redeemer is the best pizza in town imo and in another very cool neighborhood.
Ill Porcellino is a terrific little salumeria great provisions, sandwiches, salads.
American Elm is a fancier new American style restaurant.
Okinawa sushi supposedly has decent ramen. I think the sushi should be passable too. Had a great meal years ago at another location. If you want to drive my favorite place is Sushi Den and Izakaya Den down south a bit.
Mazevo is a Greek place on my list. Looks good. Owner is very greek (he will stroll around playing bouzouki) but puts a twist on things.
Hops and Pie is decent food but best feature is the beers on tap can include rare ones
Berkeley Empourium and Berkeley Untapped are tap houses I haven’t tried
Small batch liquors I think is co-owned by Berkeley’s owner (@alex can confirm or correct that). Not been but I expect a well curated selection.

That’s just this little strip @Matt
Great neighborhood and there’s plenty else in other pockets. Gonna be fun!

I’ve got an extra bedroom and I think I should be able to host you if you don’t mind obnoxious dogs and a toddler. Other than that, I might suggest something like Hilton Garden in Arvada. It’s a suburb but the old town area is pretty cool and it’s not too far from Berkeley. Not a lot of hotels near Berkeley and some of the closer areas are not the safest or most pleasant spots.
All of these would require a car or use of public transit but are very cool.
In Golden, Golden Hotel and the brand new Eddy Hotel & Taproom would be good options there.
Ramble is a top rated hotel downtown and the Kimpton Born is also nice down there. These are close to Union Station, a great place, and the light rail goes to it straight from the airport.
In River North, there’s The Ramble and The Source. Both cool properties in a pretty nice part of town.
I can offer more comprehensive advice based on what folks want.
