White's Boots
-
You can also pull them out @jordanscollected that heel pad just hides the nails in the footbed. Some people pull them out of White's, Viberg, etc. from the beginning. Pedag make good insoles if you want some shape and support, but if not the best thing is to get a thick piece of veg-tan to put in there. Wesco's insoles are basically that. White's might be able to make one for you too, or Bakers boots in Eugene.

@jordanscollected I’m interested in how this goes for you as I’ve got my first pair coming later this year. I’ve always worn some kind of insert in my boots so curious what you do. Good luck and keep us posted.

@SKT @Nik @Matt I will definitely keep you all posted on how this goes. I feel this could be a turning point to my boots for me. a little background…
I had a conversation with Matt a year or so ago about how I love my White's boots and want to love boots even more, but I simply didn't fall down the rabbit hole of "needing" more boot colors, styles and leather variations from more brands once I got the itch scratched in the welted world. I need to wear the one's I have more (I wear them maybe once a week), but i come up with excuses on why not to. "It's slushy so I'll wear my Merrell's, it's faster to just slip on my low top hiking shoes, let's just get out the door, etc."
Anyhow I was having a conversation last weekend with my brother in law about nice boots and he mentioned a brand called Origin that were extremely expensive at around $350, and i realized I had a pair of White's that cost check website and doesn't mention price for fear of being called out for flexing $700 now for a pair that I hem and haw about wearing.
Final verdict: I need to shine up these fuckers and toss some comfy insoles in them and wear the shit out of them and stop with the internal struggle.
I live about an hour from Red Wing, MN so one would expect naturally I would have started with some Iron Rangers but no I did not. (this was a paragraph I thought fit somewhere in this conversation but it didn't so I put this in parenthesis instead explaining it).

I struggled with the same mental hang up, but if there's a boot out there that can handle it, White's would qualify!

I love the roughout. No shining, no fucks given.
Hahahahaha Amen.

Howdy all. Anyone have any experience with the White's Rambler? They look seriously cool, albeit at a pretty high price point.

Shined these up with some pitch blend. I took an insole from a different boot I own and it was too snug. I’m just bitching to bitch. These are awesome and I need to wear them more.
Whites MP in brown pull up.

@jordanscollected Really man those are some beautiful boots. I’ve stolen footbeds from athletic shoes and stuck them in some of my Red Wings and it has worked pretty well. ️ Worth a try?

@SKT Congrats on the purchase although 7-8 months is a long time to wait. You should definitely revisit this thread after they arrive and let everyone know what they're like. They look awesome but I'm keen to hear first hand impressions.
A pair in 9.5D available here for anyone that is interested (note: these aren't mine and I don't know the seller!)

@SKT:
I will definitely post some pics and impressions when they get here. Thanks for the heads up on the ones for sale on the forum. Those are my size and I actually saw them AFTER I ordered mine from Baker’s. I’m not in any hurry and it was a good deal so I’m happy to bide my time.
I can’t see where the link is supposed to go but those are probably the ones I bought if they’re 9.5D. I also saw them after I bought from Bakers… but I snapped them up anyway.

Got it. Those are not the ones I bought. They’re pretty nice.
So… I was thinking with SS23 around the corner and a handful of GAH items on my radar, I’m wondering if I need two pairs. I bought the burgundy C350 Cutters from the Bakers sale but then I got the Bounty Hunters shortly thereafter for an unbeatable price. My wife knows about the BHs I have so that’s no sweat, but there’s no way I can convince her I got another pair for cheap enough to keep her from freaking out.
I really love the roughout BHs. Should I cancel the order?
