Watches - another OCD problem

I'm leaning towards the mark xx. been eying that too.
-
At this point, I’m almost leaning toward the GS because I’m pretty sure the XX minute would piss me off. I like the Oris and have tried one on and it didnt suit me in the flesh. If Omega did a limited edition, it would be intriguing but probably more than I want to invest.
-
@mclaincausey me too in theory. One of the good things about an ebauche is almost anyone can service it.

Panerai 127 'Fiddy' - daily beater only ever worn on Kevin 'ADEEOS' Rogers straps!
-
Looks great Gary, more pics in the sun when you have the time please
-
I have the IWC Spitfire Chrono. Although I love it, I would pick either of my Grand Seiko’s any day of the week!

Grand Seiko ‘Sakura’.
In the press release / marketing pics the dial always looks pink. In real life, it typically looks silvery/grey. You only get a hint of a pink hue at certain angles and in certain light, but it is very subtle.
Titanium construction. Every time I wear it, I am blown away…..
-
A lovely piece. I saw the Sakura hand winder at an AD two weekends ago and it was PERFECT but at full price, a bit out of range for now.
-
I always wondered how the Sakura dial worked, is it different layers of urushi lacquer? Also for a size 39mm watch, it certainly has a significant wrist presence!

I really like that case shape (62GS).
It's often the case with GS that a given dial color / texture will be a lot more clear in pictures than in real life. It's regrettable IMHO. If one wants a pink dial, they want a pink dial, not an off white one.
I could not agree more. I really wanted a Sakura for the pinkness. I tried @Cutlasshound 's on, and whilst it was a lovely watch and I coveted it a lot, it was not very pink......
-
@Giles this model is still readily available and is a lovely frosty pink in person. It is small though…

Yeah, now that is the one I want....
I found a good deal on one in St Maarten and almost had the missus on board but in the end was a no go
-
Ha! @Anesthetist We honeymooned there and I recall having very similar conversations in jewelry stores with Katie. 15 years later and much better off we still have the same conversations.
-
Traded my Black Bay for a Ranger. Love it.
I never could dig the ‘rivets’ on the BB bracelet and the rose gold didn’t grow on me like I thought it would. Also coveting a 14060 Sub at some point down the line so I felt ok getting rid of my dive watch.
Really drawn to the 60s look of the Ranger. It’s weightier than the BB and most importantly has the T-Fit clasp!
-
That is a lovely watch--and I am with you on the rivets. Non-functional affectations bother me more than they should.
-
Yeah man, solid choice there. If I didnt have its brother I’d be in the market for one myself.
