Suggestions for future rounds:
Buried treasure - anything written more than 300 years ago (could be any number but this makes it more challenging)
Songs for our neighbour downstairs - music to listen to while wearing everyone’s favourite slim straight cut
Feel free to reject any/all!

I just realized that we can change the themes of the future rounds to come, or even remove rounds if we want to. I changed the one from dead artists (most of the best ones being dead, I felt it too broad) to “accursed earworms:” songs that get stuck in your head but you hate them.
Anyway all that said: any creative categories you’d like to recommend?
That category is equal parts cruel and hilarious. I already hate/love it
-
@mclaincausey question for the admin (and I’m fully aware there may not be an answer): I’m lazy and don’t want to sift through every category to sort songs by player. Is there an option to compile playlists by individual player across all categories?
-
@Tago-Mago by chance the subject came up on a podcast I was listening to on my commute this morning. Apparently you can neutralise an earworm by writing out the lyrics on a piece of paper. No idea if it works but might be worth a try if they’re particularly egregious.
-
@Tago-Mago not that I am aware of but that’s a great idea

I joined another open league as well. First round was "Songs you would use to introduce someone to a band or musician"
-
@chrisjohnnick that’s a great idea for a category!

@jerkules I can't speak for the seduction category but in my experience going with deep cuts from either steely dan or rush will do the trick if you are looking for the opposite effect

While Rush is absolute chick repellent, I haven’t found that to be the case with the Dan, but JJ Cale’s “Troubadour” is a nookie generating machine
-
@mclaincausey I think the repellent factor for the dan may be more due to having to hear a bunch of guys babble on to eachother about chord voicings or keyboard/guitar tones
I can neither confirm nor deny being a party to such shenanigans in the past....
