BROTHERHOOD OF BIB

My sincerest apologies for not making it...
Tried to join the brotherhood with a pair of 806 in 38.
But the shoulder straps are too short. I'm fairly tall, 193cm/6'3", and even with the straps adjusted all the way down, it's still way too tight in the crotch area.
So here's two pictures for reference, and a goodbye from this thread - would have preferred it had worked out in my favour
I have already passed this pair on to another IH nerd.

Should be fairly easy to extend the straps. Maybe there's some extra duck material laying around (offcuts from cuffs etc) to keep it 100% Iron Heart.
(Edit: I see now that you've already moved them on)

I’ve always had a nagging doubt that my bibs (first pair ever) may be too small for me. Isn’t the bib placket too short for me? It stops midway between my waist and my shoulders. The straps are adjusted at their longest for this pic.
-
@motojobobo you know, first rule: if you feel good, it is good; and second, bibs can be worn different ways - so if your crotch region doesn't look like @tody 's IMO it should be fine

I noticed the chatter about extending the straps on the bibs. I did just that. Mine weren’t long enough for my liking so had my tailor sew an extra bit of denim on. It ended up working perfectly.

@sabergirl said in BROTHERHOOD OF BIB:
these are definitely made with shorter Asian bodies in mind.
Finally, I catch a break!

Thanks @endo and @Matt for your comments. Think sizing up must be tried next. I’ll report back guys, hopefully with pics.
I’m at 6’1.5” @sabergirl so you might be right (AGAINNNNN!!!!). But I’ll give upsizing a shot and see how it works.
-
@sabergirl Yeah, torso length is the key facto here. You were eyeing the Duck bibs, too, right? I haven't measured it exactly, but it felt like at least 3" missing from the straps to be comfortable.
I had briefly considered adding some material to the straps. But for that to look right, I would have needed some extra (extinct) material, and then it would have been the question of where to add it.
-
Yeah, those were the same ones, @tody. I think that adding that much to the strap also makes the bib part sit lower on the chest, and may look weird.
@motojobobo I’ll be interested to hear how you get on with a size up, though that particular solution wouldn’t really apply for me, as I think I would already be getting a 38 which I’m pretty sure is the biggest size ever made in these.
