New to me Fancy Pods from @Olly ️️
-
@hairydangler do you still have that frisco?! Would you mind posting a picture of the clasp area on it? I just ended up with the same one but it’s broken… curious what the back is suppose to look like so I can repair it
-
@Memphisakers why not just send it in to GAH and have it done impeccably well?
-
@Anesthetist it will be a very simple repair. It’s a broken jump rig. Not worth taking the risk of it getting lost or stolen in the mail for a 10$- 5 minute repair. This one isn’t exactly easily replaceable… it’s old and the one hairydangler has is the only other one I’ve ever seen.
-
The back clasp area is very weird… just curious exactly how it is suppose to look so I be sure to repair it correctly so that all of the pieces lay the way they were intended to lay

Also I received the 24” #10 from seawolf. Looks great, but I think the number 10 is a little big for me. I may have been better off with the #3. New it is super bright and stands out a little much for my taste. I prefer the frisco I got with the JC that I bought for the #10. Happy accident!

i believe this split ring on the goodart dongly needs to go through the back of the lobster clasp. Then the small dongly tag just hangs and isnt inline with the clasp at all. Then the lobster clasp itself engages with the split ring on the solid good art link. Checkout the pics on self-edge's site. It doesnt have the dongly tag, but it makes sense.

having said all this, you could do it however you wanted.
I might consider going the other way by installing the back of the clasp on the split ring that's on the solid ga link. Then it latches onto the frisco chain. But really, this is odd enough I'd send it back to GA. I bet they'd do an even better repair that might involve soldering shut the links rather than just bending them in place. I would worry about the chain getting lost by mail.

@pechelman When I got it there was a cheap ring connecting the dongly tag to the lobster clasp. Then that connected like the pic. When wearing it that way you could see the writing on the good art bar and see the rosette on the tag. Looks really cool like that! Just curious what it looked like originally. I would like to fix it correctly
-
ah, gotcha. So you're missing a split ring. That would work too to keep anything from dangling that shouldnt.
but since you said

Send it to GA.

Yep that’s exactly what I’m going to do. Solder a ring back on there. It’s not a complicated process, I weld for a living and solder as a hobby. I already have everything I need. Not taking a change on it getting lost to repair something super simple
-
I really REALLY like it. Won’t be putting it in the hands of the usps unless it’s something beyond my skill level.

That’s what she said.

@Memphisakers Love the #10. Just bought a second one for my DNR pendant. #3 just doesn’t pop as much to me. It seems not much different than stainless ball chains for work id tags or dog tags. Two things you won’t see me wearing any time soon.
-
@Matt nice. I really like the looks of it in pictures, just not so much on my neck. I’m sure it would calm down a bit with some patina. It is very shiny when new! To each their own… may just not be my thing.
-
I will say that I LOVE this frisco with the Jimmy cross on it! Even my wife dug it and she hates everything
-
@Kasi Mr GAH himself… you got this one? Post up a picture my man??
-
I don’t have have that.
But can tell you this for sure.
If it’s make by GAH only they can repair it. Otherwise it’s a cock up ️
