@SKT it really was! It was a three day event and they headlined the Sunday night. They were joined onstage by Billy Bragg for one song as they had previously collaborated on some old Woody Guthrie songs. Billy had performed earlier in the evening.
I will definitely see them again next time they visit the UK

Catch and release goodwill find that I'm sending up to a friend in Seattle
-
@Aetas I have heard and it's amazing
The condition was VG at best and it was $30 at goodwill (which is hard for me to stomach paying at a thrift store)I was going to pass on it but I decided to call my friend and give him the option to buy it .
This particular friend is much more concerned with early pressings than I am
I'll definately be on the lookout for a re-issue

Bought these on Saturday

Love that Mdou Moctar record. Saw him in Woodstock early last year and he's fantastic in person (and his band is outstanding).
-
@setandsetting not sure if they actually made an album together (only saw them on youtube) but the sessions he did with lee ronaldo are pretty rad
-
for me, this is THE gun club album. timeless. production, guitar parts, even JLP tone deaf vocals are great on this one. and it sounds like a hint of tragedy to come. and drama equals gun club

Oh wow. I'll look that up.
On the topic of Lee Ranaldo playing with other bands, I saw him join Oneida and they made a record out of it that totally rips: https://safetymeeting.bandcamp.com/album/live-at-secret-project-robot

Funny how hard it is to come by an OG copy of that one. Probably people snap it up quickly because it's got "the Nirvana songs" on it. But it's definitely not even their best SST record at all. You inspired me to throw on Monsters.

@GraemeE That Purple Mountains record is great.
If you like Dave Berman, check out this guy: https://sophomorelounge.bandcamp.com/album/ryan-davis-the-roadhouse-band-dancing-on-the-edge
I recently came across this and hit the buy button halfway through the first song.
