Iron Heart X Simmons Bilt Horsehide Western Shirt - The Pale Rider - Natural

Serious creasing going on

@Autorotate : any updates on your Pale Rider? Are you happy enough with your interventions that it get's regular wear? Were you able to "fix" the wavy placket? (which is my main issue right now after I soaked the shirt this summer)
-
@Tobi hey man! My PR actually has new home. I was never able to get comfortable with the tight shoulders and chest. That, and I ordered a similar leather western from a competing brand and always was reaching for that one.
The placket waviness was fixed by weighing down the bottom of the placket and letting it hang. I used a heavy crescent wrench with a washcloth to protect the leather and just let it hang on a hangar. To avoid shoulder impressions (??) I wrapped the wooden hangar with a towel. Can’t remember, but I might have spritzed the placket to coax the straightening…

Thanks, might try the weighing down thing myself. And indeed, shoulders and chest are a bit tight also for me. Will keep at it and occasionally report back for the pale riders

@indigostiff watch out for indigo stains. The Pale Rider is a magnet for stains .... I got serious black stains from just 2h wearing it with a black leather vest...
-
@Tobi thank you. But won’t they be glorious? Or no… lol.
-
-
@Tobi well, a picture speaks a thousand words. Thank you for the heads up lol.
-
@Tobi I took off my jacket lol.
-
@indigostiff Ondura Black Sheep vest.. worn at home for 2 hours
Mostly under the arms though, and I will give it one more treatment with obenauf leather oil and stop caring.. -
gotta ask
the majority of the pictures i see have sort of a turtle neck look here with the stiff leather causing the collar to sit higher than maybe where it should on a fabric shirt. For those that have had one start this way, did it ever relax? I don't recall the one I tried on in Hamburg doing this, but only had it on for a brief moment. -
@pechelman gets slowly better with wear. What annoyed me most, but better now was a sort of hump on the back of the collar.
I guess wearing it under a jacket and with a backpack helps....
-
@goosehd Man that's glorious!

@goosehd really love the shine of yours! looking good!
