Th Chiefs have had nothing short of a fucked up season. Most dropped passes, penalties and turnovers galore. If that dope Kadarius Toney isn't off sides in that Buffalo game,The Chiefs win that game and The Bills might not have even made the playoffs. Some of these playoff games are so tight that it can come down to one play. If Allen hits Diggs going down the sideline,or Shakir in the endzone, there's most likely a different outcome. After The Chiefs fumbled the ball through the endzone and Buffalo gets it back, they did nothing. Great teams take that ball go down the field score a touchdown and crush The Chiefs. So I don't want to hear how they deserved to win. Unfortunately for them this was the day The Chiefs didn't drop passes.

Haha I bet you don't.
Let me rephrase that: The Bills deserved to win in my Ravens centric mind so that we wouldn't have to play The Chiefs next week (because the Bills seemed an easier win). There.
Edit: Also, Kelce did drop a pass yesterday

While I was watching the game I said to my wife that it reminds me of the Super Bowl with The Giants against The Bills, when Bill Bilichick told the defense we're going to let them run,and don't worry they won't beat us that way. Chris Long talks about that game as he felt the same way.

The Bills lost that one fair and square and the coaches and athletes decided the game on the field. It’s not like when the Bengals got jobbed by terrible calls down the stretch the last two AFC championships.
I don’t mind success, even if perennial success of someone who isn’t your team can get a little old. I get frustrated when officials put their thumbs on the scale and as everyone here knows I’m really fed up with it.
Look how fun the games this weekend were without that chicanery. More of that please, NFL.

@matt @Oaktavia @SKT Not sure if you guys have ever heard of eating the Enemy. SO this weekend Ravens Fans should be eating KC BBQ,and I guess Chiefs Fans should be eating MD Crabs. Probably easier for you guys to get KC Que,than us to get MD Crabs. Anything else you can think of that would specific to Baltimore?
-
@Jett129 haha I have not heard of this and find it funny. I have also never tried KC Que...what is it like? Sweet?
Bmore staples are for sure steamed MD blue crabs or crab cakes (straight crabs and Old Bay with apple cider vinegar is best imo) or fresh/raw/toasted Chesapeake Bay oysters.
Drink Natty Boh or some fancy pants Baltimore beer like DuClaw or Union Craft with it.
Add a Smith Island cake and you're all set.
Some of these you would need to travel to Maryland to find though...hmm...

What about pit beef @Oaktavia ?
KC BBQ has those molasses based sauces that are too sweet for me. Brisket burnt ends are a favorite of that style for me, though I prefer them to be unsauced. (Sacrilege to a Texan, but Carolina style vinegar sauces and mustard sauces pair really well with brisket IMO. People tend to associate those with pork but especially mustard is very commonly and successfully paired with beef elsewhere and it works for brisket too.)
-
@mclaincausey I'm not huge into pit beef and I don't really fuck with it. But that is a good point! I just think of seafood and MD usually but that's a family thing for me.
I figured it might be a sweet sauce for KC. I prefer vinegar based sauces down in NC the best!
-
@Oaktavia KC BBQ is my favorite, but I think really good Que doesn’t need sauce. Me least favorite is Carolina as I don’t like vinegar and BBQ. KC,in my opinion, has a little more wiggle room in the spice rubs whereas in Texas it’s pretty much Salt and Pepper. Regardless of what we’re eating hope it’s a great game. This is Lamar’s time. Will Mahomes spoil it?
-
@Oaktavia damn all this crab and oyster talk is making me hungry!
@Jett129 when I was younger it was always between Gate’s and Arthur Bryant’s bbq in kc. I liked Arthur Bryant’s. We took the kids up last year and had Q39 and it was fantastic…had a burnt end burger that was great.
Gonna look for some Baltimore crab this weekend!
-
Q39 is so good @SKT !! My KC pal took me there and I was impressed. Nice to be able to grab a decent cocktail.
Texans are way too anal about their little hobbies. Dalmatian rub makes for a wonderful brisket, but on the competition circuit you usually see a few more spices incorporated. I get keeping things simple and trying to get as much flavor as you can, but once you’ve got your technique down it makes perfect sense to experiment a bit—be scientific and control your variables, don’t change too many things at once. Yeah you don’t “need” a sauce, but you don’t “need” au poivre or Demi glacé with a steak either—but it can be good.
That said, when I’m making chili con carne, I don’t add adulterants like beans and tomatoes. I just don’t make a big deal about it or judge others for doing so calm down, Texas.
To get back on topic, Ravens 31, KC 28

@mclaincausey Love it, Never heard it called Dalmation Rub before. We have the same Only Change One Thing motto. I would love to get some oysters, but will probably do crab cakes, and maybe something with Old Bay Seasoning. To win this game The Chiefs need to play absolutely mistake free football, and Lamar has to have a really, really bad day.

Looks like it’s already getting feisty in the warm-ups!
