IHSH-33-OD - 12oz Selvedge Denim Western Shirt - Indigo Overdyed Black
-
@drkevy Great first IH piece! I’ve had my eye on this shirt for a while but can’t justify the purchase right now. My chainstitch runoffs always go bye bye quickly, I’m just not a fan of the look, but others are. Horses for courses.
If I may offer a piece of unsolicited advice about buying IH jeans (or any other jeans, really), it’s this: measure your current jeans and understand the relationship between rise and waist size. All the sizing mistakes I’ve made have related to this.

This shirt was my first piece of Iron Heart clothing... It's my favorite shirt! 3.5 years, a couple hand washes, and aging beautifully if I may say so myself!
-
@Rangadello looks amazing
-
Is this planned for a restock as well?
-
@bluemantra yes, should be here next week

So these will be even more stubborn faders then if I understand the difference between reactive vs. sulphur dyeing correctly?
Curious to see the product images if there's the same difference with applying the hardware after OD like the latest 21oz jeans with shiny/unoxidized rivets.
-
@pechelman I’ve been thinking about this too certainly makes me treasure my older OD stuff more knowing the oxidised hardware will eventually be done away with altogether.

I remember reading about a newly developed reactive dying technique that allows for much greater fading potential than the one that was previously being used.
I think it was explained in the product descriptions for some of the SS24 pieces, but can't remember which ones for the life of me...

@pechelman More stubborn - possibly, but it won't stay jet black forever, the potential is definitely there! My experience with an IHSH-323-OD (one of our early forays into reactive overdying) is that it did still fade/wear, especially in those high wear areas... I should really get some pics of that one up in the relevant place at some stage to demonstrate...
@DeeDee85 the oxidised hardware was definitely cool but also serves as a good reminder of why it was phased out; any concoction potent enough to oxidise copper to that extent that quickly isn't exactly easy to dispose of safely

Here it is, from the IHSH-382-PUR product page.

@Ross completely understand that, if it helps save the planet, the least I can do is try and beat my own snaps up

68degreesorless is that definitely the overdyed 33? I have had mine for a month it keeps dyeing my hands but can't imagine how long it takes to look as awesome as yours!!
-
@David-Walker Yes, it definitely is. Mine was purchased in '21 or '22. Been washed a bunch bc I sweat a lot so can't go multiple wears without washing. Great shirt - hope your enjoy yours.
