@Tago-Mago If you can find it,I would recommend the Vago Elote(Which means corn),as it’s triple distilled and they use corn In the second distillation,which gives it a nice flavor note,and maybe some sweetness. Usually under $50 in the US.

@Jett129 Thanks, so this one:

@Tago-Mago yep and agree with @Jett129
Also this one is nice. Uses an autoclave or brick oven to cook the pinas in this region, so less smoke. Really tastes like a jalapeño to me

They have a bunch of great brands and some smaller formats there too. Alipus is reliable and often less expensive. Same for Bozal, the tobasiche is good.

@Tago-Mago Absolutely,In my opinion one of the single best Mezcal values out there. Not too bad on the price,relative to what it costs in the states.

@Tago-Mago I am fan of the PC series from Bruichladdich. Tempted to pick up a bottle of the recent 18yo PC release.
My favourite PC release so far has been the Sauternes cask finish SC-01.
-
@Tago-Mago Here are the PAC-01 and SC-01 versions.
PAC is finished in a Pauillac red wine cask and SC is finished in a Sauternes cask. Both nice but the SC in my opinion is a bit smoother and my slight preference.

April wound up being a good month for whiskey shopping. After acquiring the Woodford batch proof, I also happened upon others I'd been looking for...
I also found a great deal on one I've already had, and vowed to grab another. The markdown made it extremely easy. I'll be saving this one for special occasions...

Hibiki 100th Anniversary

@SourPower how was that beauty?
-
@mclaincausey how did the rest of your Berlin trip unfold? Any success picking up a mezcal?
-
@Tago-Mago worked 16 hour days from the hotel until finally getting some time Saturday. Walked all over town and had a great time but no time for mezcal. I absolutely adore Berlin and want to return one day, and probably stay at the Kempinski Adlon again—loved the hotel and best breakfast buffet I’ve ever had, for only €40 including unlimited champagne and caviar.
There’s a lot that Germany does better than the US. Y’all have it pretty good over there!
-
@mclaincausey haven’t tried it yet, just brought it home!

@SourPower back in the days when whisky was affordable Hibiki 12 (now Harmony lacking the age statement) was a favorite. Enjoy!
