@Tago-Mago I think Kane had a tough night, the link up play to him was poor and he was man handled by their unit centre back. I think he did ok keeping the defence busy, it was up to the rest to cause the problems with the spaces he left. Very disappointed with Foden. I dont think ive seen him put in a decent performance for England. Cant help feeling like if he would have taken Grealish, he would have made that change, which was desperately needed. Did he not want to dent Fodens ego and confidence by replacing him with a Gordon or an Eze? I was worried pre tournament that Southgate had taken a few too many very inexperienced players that he has no intention of playing, I could be wrong of course because I didnt think he would give Bowen minutes, and was proven wrong and he made a difference when he came on. Taking players for experience is important, but when those players are 25 years old already, and wont be the future for the next 3/4 tournaments it is pointless. Just praying we arent too reliant on some players who have it in the locker to go missing at international level. Saka was class first half and Bellingham very good throughout. Would like to see Mainoo given more minutes.
Rice very very good at protecting a defence which looked shaky at times.
Early days in the tournament and 3 points is the most important thing

Great to see England win their opener, keep it up lads and bring it home for us!

trent was disappointing for me. he just looked so lost in midfield.

@Twistlock - how big an impact will losing Hurzeler have on St Pauli, do you think?
I have friends in the Brighton area (season ticket holders) who will be watching his progress intently…! I hope he does well, and St Pauli find a good replacement. -
Def feels like a setback @Nocturama .
Roster planning more challenging without new HC in town, players already on the team needing to adapt to new coach/system.
Fingers crossed for finding a suitable replacement soon. -
Yeah, last night's match was truly painful to watch, I had to go to bed soon after it finished I was so exhausted. I woke this morning with a strange feeling of disbelief that England had snatched victory from the jaws of defeat, usually it's the opposite...

Good lord England got the ball about halfway across the goal line just now. Cmon guys let’s go!

Rule Britannia! Sure looked cooked. Not often you survive that many close calls going against you in such a tight match.
