When I just started dating my wife, she lived in a third floor apartment overlooking the street that I parked my car on. One night I looked out the window and two guys were trying to break into my car. I yelled out the window, threw on a pair of boots, grabbed a hockey stick and went to chase after them. It was winter and all I had on was my boxers and boots…
They did a mad dash and got the hell out of there.
Sorry to hear your troubles @Clint_D and hope everything resolves quickly for you.

Yeah, they even broke a flat head screwdriver that they had jammed in the window frame trying to get into it. It's aggravating as hell but some neighbors got hit worse than I did so I guess it could've been a lot worse. I'm not claiming anything on insurance so I'm out of pocket $350 for the new window.

@popvulture Yep, definitely got in, ransacked, didn't find anything and left. At least I didn't have anything valuable inside!

@Clint_D man I had the same shit happen downtown years ago — smashed the window, broke in, rummaged through everything, and didn't take a thing. There was a $1600 bass amp in the trunk haha. The petty crime crowd ain't always the brainiest, that's for sure. Anyway, we've gotta get together sometime — hope you're well, bullshit thievery aside!

@ROman I was pretty idiotic in my youth and hope that I’m a little better now. Can’t say that I don’t make mistakes still, but at least I slow down and think….a little.
I was in a band where the lyric to a song was…If my young self could see me now he’d probably be let down, but the truth of the matter is if my young self could see me now he’d probably be surprised that I was alive.

@Jett129 lol and how very true! I often thought I would never see 50…
I wish I could say I would go back and do things differently, but then those experiences have made me who I am today. Slightly worn and battle scared, but just a little wiser…
I really think that it’s better to have tried and failed, than never have tried at all. Maybe wisdom, maybe foolishness…but I accept who I am.

@goosehd Years ago, I was telling a co-worker a story about my younger days which I stated I used to be crazy. He looked at me stone faced and said used to be?

@SKT did the same thing this morning

It can be such a long corner though.
