Tattoos

@Oaktavia completely agree. My director is constantly asking for picture updated if my back in our 1:1s. Glad to see workplaces adapt to the idea that tattoos don’t matter for work.
-
@alexxedge for sure man. I actually get a bit relieved when I see other teachers and staff with tattoos, especially over the last five years or so. Don't get me wrong, I love being heavily tattooed, but I didn't always like being the only one. Last year, a new teacher's fun fact about themselves they shared at our back to work meeting was that she had 20 tattoos. It's nice when it's less surprising for folks to see my ink these days. Although I know I'll be answering the same questions about my tattoos over and over again. That does not go away.

@Oaktavia I love being tattooed. But, as someone that does not like a lot of attention, I find myself in long sleeves and pants a lot more. It is definitely comforting when there are others around.

@Oaktavia @alexxedge
Same same. My new principal has a full sleeve. When I was interviewing I had my arms covered. But I saw his. Then I mentioned at some point after I’d been hired that I was traveling to Vietnam over summer and going to get a dragon tattoo. He still hadn’t seen my arms yet. Once the new school year started and it was too hot to wear long sleeves I showed up in a tee shirt. He was a little shocked too see I had so many tattoos but only because he didn’t realize I did when interviewing. First thing he asked was to see my new dragon. It feels great to be excepted for who we are.There are several teachers in the school with tats, but none have as many as me. Students who don’t know my name yet refer to me as the “tattoo guy!” Haha.

@Oaktavia you got amazing tattoos homie. I’ll post some more of mine in here and my hands once get them done. My most painful one was by far my chest piece, had go big cuz two cover ups. Aka blackout drunk tattoos on my chest, one didnt even remember getting till woke up after bender and saw in mirror lol. But my chest now Is a bear vs a wolf with like big yellow/orange moon comes up to little past my shirt line on neck. But The sternum and around nipples was not that fun

Please do!

@Steve Probably the coolest tattoo on this thread in a while! What a great idea.
-
@Steve that absolutely rocks.
-
@Steve Just pure awesomeness!!!
-
@Steve That's awesome! What a cool way to keep a piece of your kid's childhood with you. The tattoo artist did a great job keeping that childlike charm. Tattoos don't always have to be complex to be meaningful.

Got my hands done by my good friend and tattoo artist today. Had to tweak the moths antenna smaller , so didn’t clip my wolfs paw. The Mrs got a tattoo appointment Sunday, and I’m already planning next one lol. Def have “tattoo waves” over the years. Get a few chill for few, and so on -
@meatmarketdenim1 those came out really nice man! Congrats. How was the experience??
-
@meatmarketdenim1 shit yeah! Now that I’m back in Balto and waiting on the sale of our house in NM to clear along with various furniture purchases (not to mention our Gosport and my Philly bills) I’ve been keeping a session with my main guy on the back burner but he texted me yesterday and made me make an appt for this month.
-
@meatmarketdenim1 when I run out of room everywhere else, I will really want my hands done, then. That time is drawing near. Your’s turned our great.

@alexxedge
Thank you man -
@Mizmazzle
Thank you so much homie. It wasn’t too bad, normal tattoo feeling, not that bad but not that rad lol. But so worth it. It Did get little “Spicey” shading the bear, but when unwrapped them this am the moth/left hand was way pufffer. Bout to throw some 2nd skin stuff on in few. That stuff is game changer in tattoo healing, last one got was like all way healed when took it off. -
@meatmarketdenim1 “not that bad, not that rad” is quite possibly the best definition of what getting tattooed (most of the time) feels like.
